It wasn't working yet they kept trying even when they needed 10-12 quick points late in the game.
Would have loved to see what might have happened had they tried a few more 3-pointers at that point.

UNI made two 3-pointers right off the bat and took a 10-5 lead, and were within 3 pts (22-19) on a Wyatt Lohaus 3-pointer.
But then other than a desperation 3-pointer right at the end - they went the final 7 minutes attempting only two from the arc.
I thought Louisville played some pretty good defense though and didn't allow too many open looks

Amen, DC. It's beyond belief that a school could go to the Final Four in Year 1, go UNDEFEATED in Year 2 losing only to the national runner-up by two in the best game of the NCAA tournament, and then win their conference championship in Year 3 with a record of 28-4 -- and be awarded a 7 seed for that history. Put any Big 5 conference name on the jersey of a team with that history, and it's at least a 2 seed.

      Go Shockers. Keep playing angry.

UNI got a taste of their own medicine as they shot just 39% from the field and were just 6 for 19 from 3. Louisville didn't give UNI many open looks and the Panthers couldn't contain Terry Rozier who had 25 to lead all scorers. Louisville's starting linup had 61 of their 66 points. Seth Tuttle ends his UNI career with a team high 14 points but the interior defense of Louisville pretty much bottled him up in the 2nd half as UNI, who was down by 9 at the half, couldn't get any closer than 8 in the last 10 minutes.
Yep, the ACC teams are pretty tough this year. 5 in the Sweet 16.

Wichita State head coach Greg Marshall has beaten Notre Dame before.

In the 2007 NCAA tourney, Marshall coached Winthrop to an upset of the Irish in a first round game.

One month later Marshall became the head coach of Wichita State

The Valley has made the statement that we are pretty danged tough at the top -
now we need the other 8 MVC teams to get their butts in gear and move up to that level - it's embarrassing that so many teams in our conference schedule poorly then produce RPI's of 200 & worse!
We had noticably more 190-200+ RPI teams than the Big West!

Whatever happened to the Valley requiring teams to schedule teams w/ RPI's of 150 or better and encouraged them to be top 100 RPI's?
