"Rev. Michael Garanzini is stepping down as president of Loyola University..."

"Under Garanzini, the university regained its financial footing, and its endowment nearly doubled.
A $500 million capital campaign was completed early, according to the statement.
There also was significant growth in enrollment and a transformation of the university's four campuses."

Garanzini is 66 years old, and has been President of Loyola since 2001.
His bio says - "During Garanzini's tenure as President of Loyola University Chicago, he has brought the University
out of debt in only a few years. He has also initiated a series of construction projects on both of Loyola's city campuses."

Yeah but to do so, Loyola had to start taking anyone who applied for a few years. Their acceptance rate went sky high to something like 85-90%.

Basically, unless you were a totally and completely brainless, if you applied to Loyola you got in. It has gone back to normal now that they've grabbed all that money 8-)
