  • Matt Roth Article

The writer hints that Matt Roth "has intimated that he really likes Illinois", but no such quote from Roth suggests that.

I suggest you look at the order Roth lists his choices when asked:

"Bradley, Southern Illinois University, Illinois State." All three of those schools have offered, along with Indiana State.
Look for Roth to get even more interest as the season progresses from Big Ten schools, including Illinois...."

I still believe MR will end up with the Braves!

By the way, if Porter Moser still has even a shread of hope to get Matt Roth, then why is he openly pursuing every transfer 2-guard on the open market. He has already demonstrated to all the recruits, that his transfer players get all the playing time well ahead of the 4-year recruits out of high school.
ISU (Transfer U) is now after Phillip "Mickey" Perry, the disgruntled transfer hot-shot from Wisconsin, according to this article.

      "Nuther big question---
Will Porter Moser even be there at ISU long enough for Matt Roth to take their scholarship offer seriously.

I have heard that Roth intends to take "official visits" to 4 or 5 schools, probably BU, ISU, SIU, and Indiana State.

If higher offers come, he will consider those. But it sounds like BU is the leader right now.

I hope Roth decides to come to Bradley but there are so many good players that we are involved with that all will not be lost if he doesn"t; local players that do well at B.U. seem to do well in the community after graduation; I do not think that happens as much outside of Peoria.

I hope you're right, Big Mike! I'd be one happy WCHS grad if it happens.

Matt Roth was at the SIU vs. Witchita State game. Does that change our mind that he is leaning towards Bradley?

                No.
From what I hear, he has Bradley ahead of ISU.

Did you see him there or was it reported somewhere?

I was told it by a Fay relative, that he and Carlton sat together at the game. Disturbed me because I really thought he was a lock for BU

I have heard that Roth still lists SIU, ISU, and Indiana St, along with Bradley. He intends to make official visits to all 4. Maybe this was his official visit to SIU.

SIU-Witchita State game. I don't talk much about Carlton with them now that he is going to THAT MVC school.

I caught that it was the SIU game and corrected my post above. But I don't think it means much now. I had heard he intends to make at least 4 official visits, then decide, unless he can get other offers from higher schools.
I am sure the Bradley coaches believe they stand a good chance if those 3 schools (SIU,ISU,and InSU) are the ones they are up against.

I see alot written about Roth and from most accounts he seems to be a great shooter, good student of the game and an overall good to very good player. I sat though near him at the S.Miss game and he is not very tall nor is his frame very big.

I understand he is local but is he worth waiting for to make a decision and would he really be a difference maker especially after what type of player ie athletic 2,3,4 players BU has signed or had verbals from?

I would really personally be more excited about him if he were 6'7+ and was a banger.
