  • NCAA Tournament bracket- Wichita gets stung with a #7 SEED!

that is a huge ripoff....they get Indiana as a 10 seed - who shouldn't even be in this tourney

  • #2
Texas gets in with a 3-12 record against Top 50 teams

    looks like it's a BCS-love-fest

I suspect no at-large mid-majors will get in besides Wichita if that's what's going on

      UNI a Top 10 ranked team gets a 5-seed!

      Ripoff....they face a 25-win team

is this a factor of the MVC playing & finishing their tourney a week early and people forget?

Disrespect! Play angry, UNI and WSU.
I hope the commish howls, for all the good it will do.

Geez, Wichita has proven itself the last two years. What does the committee want?
        Yajusneverno!

          awww... the fix is in...
Duke gets bumped and doesn't even make the ACC finals just like Virginia..
but - of course Virginia loses their #1 seed but Duke gets the #1 seed...

then St. John's collapses down the stretch, finishes 5th in Big East, they got TOTALLY killed 105-68 - one of the worst clobberings in all of DI this year then lose 1st round game in their Big East Tourney by almost 20 to Providence...

so can someone tell me how they get in with such a decent seed???

Then UCLA gets in as well....many had then out...

The fix is in...all the BCS favorite teams are getting ungodly good seeds...
EVEN all the commentators are ripping this UCLA choice.

does it surprise me? - nope - been predicting this kind of crap for years...

21 ranked Arkansas also get 5-seed

seven teams from the Big Ten so far and we are not done yet....

...looking like virtually NO at-large teams from the mid-majors...

            omg -
            13-loss & unranked & not even getting votes!!!! - Xavier gets a 6-seed!
..first four out are all midmajors as is Murray State, Temple, Richmond, Tulsa.... while Texas, IU, St. Johns, UCLA, and Xavier get in...

Illinois, UC Davis, ISU ought to all come up shortly in the NIT

              LA Times...
              UCLA selection a "SURPRISE"!!!
Few outside UCLA’s locker room believed the Bruins would earn an NCAA tournament bid when selections were made on Sunday.

              analyst Jeff Borzello:
"So the committee really put UCLA's resume, Temple's resume and
Colorado State's resume side-by-side-by-side and chose UCLA? Hahaha. OK."

lots of people are saying that given the recent issues at NCAA they chose MONEY as deciding factor - large market schools definitely got all kinds of breaks...

the committee guy even seems legitimately agonized about having to include small market Wyoming....and lose other bigger market schools

Creighton gets a total of $153,000 for the 6 teams in the NCAA tournament from the Big East conference. They also will receive $25,000 for each additional game won by those six teams.

Bradley gets a total of $53,000 for the 2 teams in the NCAA tournament from the MVC. They also will receive $25,000 for each additional game won by those 2 teams.

Nobody likes to finish last, but finishing last in the Big East pays a lot more than finishing last in the MVC.

I agree the BCS was favored, but Duke beat UVA head to head, and had many more good non-con wins, especially on the road. Your anti-Duke bias is showing... Vast majority of analysts had Duke over UVA

Being such a weak overall conference didn't help the Valley schools compared to the other conferences.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

Once teams get into their conference schedules, the power conference teams beat each other up due to the strength of their leagues.

I'm a MVC fan, but the fact of the matter is teams like Duke play Virginia, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Louisville, Notre Dame, Pitt, Syracuse, Georgia Tech, Miami and others week in week out once the league play starts.

Wichita plays Northern Iowa, Bradley, Illinois State, Drake, Evansville, SIU, Indiana State, Missouri State, Loyola.

Wichita and Northern Iowa can have a horrible night, as all teams do, against anybody in the MVC and still have a shot at wining the game.

Duke can have a horrible night against a team in the ACC and get beat soundly.

That is why the NCAA takes more teams from the power conferences.

Wichita and Northern Iowa will have their chance to prove the seedings wrong.

There is a lot that goes into it and the polls are just a part of it. The only thing I can think of what hurt them is the fact the Valley is the 12th rated conference in the country and they got beat by Evansville.

We will see if they should have received a better seed. If they win it doesn't matter what seed they got. I hope they do well.
