The press conference is next weekend in Peoria. I'd be stunned if the IHSA held the press conference in Peoria, to announce it's leaving Peoria. They're smarter than that. I would think they'd wait a couple days and hold the press conference in Bloomington where their offices are. When it was announced it was moving to Peoria, the press conference wasn't held in Champaign.

Thanks for the answers. I am somewhat surprised. I have sat in the lower bowl under each basket and at half court for lots of BU games. I also watch Bradley games on TV. I have never heard the rims sound like they do for the IHSA games. Do you know if the basketball standards/rims have a "tension" adjustment control system.

My take on the two 3A games today...
both were great games...
Game 1
Belleville Althoff 82 - Morgan Park 74
Morgan Park's Marcus Lovett was 20-27 and scored 45 points - he was absolutely amazing but with him taking all those shots, it appeared the other guys were frustrated so they jacked shots when they could and not necessarily good takes - especially Charlie Moore who was just 7-23!
The rest of the team minus Lovett went just 13-53.
Here is the most astounding stat....
Morgan Park took 70 shot attempts - Lovett made 20 of them and yet the entire team had just 7 assists
7 assists on 70 shots and 33 made baskets.
Also Althoff shot 38 FTs and MP shot just 7 - some of that was a bit suspect.
Althoff's Jordan Goodwin - just a sophomore - had 18 pts, 14 rebs
Game 2
Westchester St. Joseph 55 - Rockford Lutheran 38
this game was a 20 pt blowout much of the way - St. Joe's got a little lazy and the gap narrowed to 11-12 but St. Joe's never was really threatened...
The only thing that I think was worth mentioning here is that St. Joe's looks like they have the THREE best overall players in the tournament...
Nick Rakocevic - skilled big man - 6-11 - just a junior but plays for Mac Irvin Fire -
Glynn Watson - scored at will, 10-17, 28 pts - going to Nebraska but just 6-0 maybe a bit undersized for Big Ten but a great player
Jordan Ash - great ballhandler & PG - committed to Northwestern

In the late game, Normal Community beat Geneva 38-36 to advance to the 4A state final game. Congrats again to Morton native Dave Witzig!
By the way, unsigned senior Alex Peacock is a nice player. He lead them with 16 points, and he had 25 against Simeon in the Supersectional.
In the other 4A semifinal, Lincolnshire Stevenson easily beat Bolingbrook 63-42. The likely Mr. Basketball in Illlinois, Jalen Brunson, had 21 points to lead Stevenson.-
In Class 3A, Belleville Althoff beat the two-time reigning Class 3A champion Chicago Morgan Park 82-74-
And Westchester St. Joseph beat Rockford Lutheran 55-38-

The next time you watch an NBA game on television, listen to the sound of the ball as it hits the rim. It is generally much louder than what you hear on a college basketball game that is televised. You will also most likely notice the sound of the ball bouncing on the floor is more noticeable in an NBA game.

One interesting comment in the IHSA coverage was here
in the section titled..
"Uncertainty at Bradley, Morgan Park"
it seems to hint that if Geno Ford is fired, then the two Morgan Park kids on the roster would also have changes in "their future"...
They are apparently getting counselled..
"Morgan Park coach Nick Irvin appears to be counseling his former players who are part of Ford??™s program.
Their future at BU might depend on what happens to Ford.
???They love Peoria and want to be a part of the Bradley Braves tradition,??? Irvin said about Cunningham and Taylor. ???But at the same time, it??™s like, ???What should we do???™ Both of them are used to winning.
???Geno is doing the best he can with what he??™s got.???"

I think this jabroney needs to mind his own business when it comes to these kid's futures. Losing a year of eligibility at this point would be a big deal for both of these kids.
Honestly, I'd love to see what a new coach could do with Taylor. We saw nothing but regression from him under Geno's tutelage.Larry Bird
I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.
