  • CIT bids going out

Dartmouth has accepted a CIT bid, their first post-season bid in 56 years!!!!

FGCU - with a disappointing loss in their Tourney decided they will take a CIT bid for the chance to play again at home...
..also NJIT, St. Francis, JMU, Oakland, and a few others...

A few more teams have accepted CIT bids.
Here is the list of teams that have accepted CIT bids so far, and some that have already been matched up-

March 16 New Hampshire at NJIT
March 17 James Madison at USC Upstate
    March 18 Dartmouth at Canisius
Florida Gulf Coast ??“ Is hosting a game on March 18
Oakland ??“ Is hosting an opening round game
    UT Martin ??“ Is playing
Saint Francis U. ??“ Is hosting on March 17
Portland ??“ Is hosting on March 18
    Eastern Kentucky ??“ Is playing
Incarnate Word ??“ Is hosting a game on March 17
    Eastern Illinois ??“ Is playing
    Bowling Green ??“ Is playing
Western Michigan ??“ Is hosting a game on March 18
Evansville ??“ Is hosting a game on March 18
    IPFW ??“ Is playing

So far, Eastern Michigan is the only team that has publicly accepted a CBI bid. Most of the teams that will be in the CBI are either still playing in their conference tournaments, or are finished and still holding out for an NIT bid. But I also suspect the much higher cost of the CBI may also be limiting the number of interested schools.

But one team that will not be playing in the CBI or CIT this season is Western Kentucky. They were eliminated Thursday in the quarterfinals of the CUSA Tournament, and they have already announced that if they do not get an NIT bid, they will refuse to play in the CBI or CIT. Their RPI is 118, which means they will not be getting an NIT bid.
