  • BRAD PITT

Now that we've gotten those pesky Jayhawks out of the way, what needs to be done to eliminate Pittsburgh? They have good size and play good defense. I don't think they are as quick as Bradley is, but the Braves looked like they were running on fumes at the end of the Kansas game. Given that the Panthers had an easier game against Kent State than we did against KU, I wonder how much fatigue will come into play? Come to think of it, maybe the players will be less tired from the game on Friday than the media circus that will surround them for this historic victory. Since West Virginia plays in the first game, maybe we can get the WVU fans on our side as we play their bitter Big East rivals Sunday. I think our foul shooting must improve, but we shot pretty well from the field (45%), so if we can duplicate that, we may be OK. One thing we cannot expect to duplicate is turnovers. Pitt takes care of the ball, so any turnovers will have to be caused by our good defense, rather than relying on them to just throw it away. Just like Friday, the more we hang around or play with the lead, the more our confidence grows and the more doubt creeps in to the higher-seeded team! GO BRAVES!!

It was announced that the Bradley-Pitt game would be the early game Sunday, starting at 12:30 Eastern time (11:30 Central).

    Can anyone confirm this?
From PJ Star sports expert Kirk Wessler in his Jan. 10, 2012 column following 8th loss in a row at Drake-
"Yes, the Braves are better than they were when the season started two months ago. By a light year or two, they??™re better."

And from the PJ Star 4/26/12, Dave Reynolds-
"Fields and Grier both appear to be difference makers. If Bradley continues to add the right players around them, happy days may be ahead for the Braves after a long dry spell."

CBS lists it as a 12:10 eastern time start. That would be 11:10 AM Central.

First game? Well, that pretty much sucks! WVU fans may be slow getting to the Palace. NWSU fans too, for that matter. Oh well, we'll just have to rely on our vocal contingent to do the job! 36 hours after a big win is not much turnaround time, but that's the price Friday teams pay, I guess. The Thursday winners have their games spread out across Saturday's time frames, since that's sort of a "who cares" night for TV viewership. Friday winners have less of a window, since CBS doesn't want to mess with its Sunday night lineup.

Hey, just wanted to let your BU Braves fans out there know that the BRAD PITT idea was MINE!! Look for it twice on ValleyTalk last night........no problem!!.....use it as often as you like and enjoy!!

First post out here. Some of you may have shaken hands with me right after the semi game at the MVC tourney. I didn't hold back in wishing you guys well, and congratulating you on the game the Braves played against the Shocks.

Looks like some of that Valley love may have been helpful in toppling KU last night. Great game!!

Good luck tomorrow against a different set of Panthers. Get one back for the Valley against the Big East!!

              Best regards - outpost

I admit outpost, I cheated on this one. But I thought I heard it on ESPN Gamenight after the last horn blew on Friday. I have to admit, I had my doubts about our chances after SIU and UNI went down in flames in their games. After Franklin banked in that 3-point runner to end the first half, I figured the gods must surely be wearing red and white for the night!! Our battle cry for Sunday must be--Duplication, Not Capitulation.

                GO BRAVES
