    other awards tomorrow...

Bradley gets pretty much shut out except Josh on All Frosh Team...
he should have been FOY and on the All-Newcomer Team as well and I think Auston Barnes (4th in steals in MVC play) maybe should have made All Defense

I would interpret these results as the entire rest of the league's assessment that not one of Bradley's players are among the top 15-20 or more of the league's best players. I guess that's a subject for another thread - considering the super-hype poured out upon them by the media.
But I doubt that has ever happened many times before that Bradley hasn't had at least one of the top 1st, 2st, & HM teams.

    BU release
ST. LOUIS - Bradley forward Josh Cunningham was voted to the Missouri Valley Conference All-Freshman Team, according to an announcement from the league office Tuesday afternoon.

The additional MVC Specialty Awards voted on by the writers were just released-

Again, Bradley does not get a single player on either the All-Bench team or the Most Improved teams.

So comparing PRESEASON All-Conference with the Post-season All-Conference...

-the only teams that finished more than a single spot from where they were picked are:
Missouri State finished FIVE spots lower than predicted
Loyola finished four spots higher than picked
Drake finished 2 spots higher than picked but still landed on Thursday
Both Indiana State & Illinois State finished 2-3 spots above where they were picked
SIU & Bradley both finished two spots lower than picked

-the Preseason All Conference differs in that Mockevicius makes 1st Team & Cotton drops to 2nd Team
Both Milton Doyle & Marcus Marshall got HM mention but were non-factors

-Fred VanVleet was Preseason Player of the Year but he finished 3rd in post-season with Tuttle & Baker ahead of him

-there was no official PRESEASON Newcomer or Freshman of the Year but most of the press selections named Josh Cunningham.

The last twelve MVC Freshmen of the Year have all had very good MVC careers - although a couple transferred out
(David Moss (2003), Blake Ahearn, Eric Coleman, Bryan Mullins, Osiris Eldridge, P'Allen Stinnett*, Kevin Dillard*, Colt Ryan, Doug McDermott*, Seth Tuttle, Marcus Marshall*, Milton Doyle (2014) -- * means finished their careers outside the MVC)
