Shockers tourney seed

If Shockers go on to win the MVC tournament championship, is there a shot they will get a #3 seed? Right now I imagine they are right on a 4th seed.
Will be pulling for the MVC teams to represent well in mid-March.
I am a BU fan above all, but root for all Valley teams when out of conference, as I imagine most Braves fans do...well, maybe not ISU-red.
But I still like to see the Birds do well.

The new rankings have them at #8 in both the media and coaches polls. If they win the MVC Tournament, it's hard to see them rising much higher. And we know how the NCAA selection committee thinks. An #8 ranked team would usually expect a 2 or 3 seed, but like you, I'll bet they will get a 4 seed at best. That would mean a tough draw in the round of 32, and a killer match-up in the Sweet 16 if they get there.

I wish we could have seen their squad last year avoid Kentucky in the second round. A terrible draw on their part for a 1 seed. Heck of a game, but it felt more like a second weekend type game..

I know, right.
Shockers had a good chance to get to the Final 4 last year had they beat Kentucky...one of the best 2nd halves I had seen by one team in a while. Both teams played well in the 2H actually.

If Shockers get a 3-seed or better, I wouldn't count them out at a possible run at the Final 4 again...they can beat anyone on any given day. Perhaps a disadvantage is playing in our cupcake league though and may not prepare them for stronger opponents in the tourney.

A few teams I don't see them beating are Virginia, Duke, Nova, and Kentucky.
