the board is directly interviewing & reviewing candidates for AD..they likely will have the next AD picked before we have a new President - even if that's backwards according to everyone else...

and if we wait 'til May or June to make the call on firing the coach then 95% of the best candidates will have already long been interviewed and hired elsewhere by the 40-50 other coaching vacancies that'll open up between now & then.

Tonight was just textbook & fitting that we scored only 45 and got blown out by well over 20...
In his four years Geno has had more games of paltry sub-50 scoring output and more losses of 20-or-more points in a blowout than JL would have had had he stayed here 50 years!!!
This has indeed been the most painful 4-year stretch of basketball for fans to watch - not just here in Peoria but likely in all of Division I basketball - and if you disagree, then please tell me where any fan base has ever been subjected to such horrific shooting, scoring, and losing as we have seen since Dr. Glasser stroked her ego four years ago.
The remaining season ticket holders who have not abandoned this team ought to be granted lifetime free passes to whatever they can resurrect from this mess.

meanwhile Kent State just won their 21st - assuring they will now have gone since 1997 without a losing season and they've had 20 or more wins 15 of those 17 seasons!!!! - proving it had far less to do with one single guy who inherited a nice roster and worked there as head coach for 3 years, than it does with an administration and a system committed to WINNING - something we sorely need.

I've been a season ticket holder for close to 45 years. I don't feel I'm entitled to lifetime free passes. I go because I choose to.

And I far as I'm concerned, Jim Les has nothing to do with the current status of Bradley basketball, other than trying to continue the divide among fans. It's time to get over it.

maybe the people who keep making horrible decisions and mistake ought to look back and learn from those mistakes -
but sadly I fear we're about to see a whole new batch of bad moves...

I agree 100%. Ultimately it is the Board of Trustees that have put the university, its athletic department and the fan base, in the predicament it is currently in. There is an old saying that fits the Board of Trustees..."If you could kick the person in the butt responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit down".

We will now see if the Board of Trustees is capable of correcting the coarse of the university. It all falls upon them.

Kirk Wessler talks at length about this topic and says several things ranging all the way from it IS gonna happen to it's NOT gonna happen... I am not quite sure what exactly he really is trying to convey...sounds like he's reposting what's been said here...

But one thing Kirk said in that column contradicts what Board Chairman Doug Stewart said personally in his letter of Nov. 24 regarding Bradley basketball...
"At our most recent board meeting,on November 6th and 7th, the athletic programs were a major discussion at the committee level.
At future board meetings they will be part of an in depth discussion at the full board level.
.. the men's basketball program is another story. I attend the games just like you and last year's season did not meet expectations.
Thus far this year, we have not shown any meaningful progress. It is still early and injuries have impacted the ability to get a new team
on the same page. The program is top of mind. It is on our radar and we will assess its progress at the end of the season."

            But Kirk Wessler says ...
"... it’s the board’s intent to avoid dealing with the basketball coach."

Just because you realize something isn't good doesn't mean you have to do something about it. I can walk to my kitchen and see all the dirty dishes and think "Wow, that's bad" but I'm probably just going to keep walking.

They can asses the team, see the situation isn't good and then do nothing about it. Not saying it would make sense to do that, but they can.

The Board IS already dealing with the coaching situation - they are NOT avoiding it...

Jerrance Howard's name didn't get onto the front pages of the PJ Star merely by coincidence...
use a few neurons here - his name got there because the Board is ALREADY talking to potential coaching hires and exploring their background - then when they found this little obstacle of the arrest - someone leaked it to the press to torpedo the process.
Note that news of this "obstacle" was already known but being kept confidential for obvious reasons.
Kirk Wessler's first mention of it was hours later.

Can't, I've seen too much Bradley basketball.

But why was it being kept confidential? It's public record, I can go onto the Peoria County court website and bring it up right now, just like I can find Geno's ticket for using a cell phone while driving.

The probation he was sentenced to expired two days after all this came out. Wouldn't it be just as logical to assume someone at the PJ Star on the court beat saw the name and tipped off Kirk? Or am I missing something?

well - you can guess as you want - but the Board has been making calls and interviewing
..to say that the board is NOT going to address our needs is wrong - they already are...they are covering all the bases - not saying they'll make a hire right away or even fire Geno - I don't think that's even been decided with certainty..

Kirk was on a radio program and stated that nobody at the PJ Star knew about Jerrance's case. He stated that someone (not from the PJ Star) emailed him to make sure he knew about it. And it isn't hard to know who that was. He was the first to tweet about it and he later bragged about taking Jerrance down on his Twitter.

It's hard for most of us. Who was it?

Way to go, Wessler. Taking down a kid for a misdemeanor. You're a real standup guy.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

If and ever if when JH would be a candidate for the HC job at UIUC... this will all become a distant memory and seem superfluous (especially to the local rag and KW).

Only the local rag holds Bradley to a standard that no other university has to adhere to.

I agree that today SHOULD be the day---but I an wondering if we have to wait for a new AD before we hire a new coach?? IF so--every day we wait-- we get further and further behind--I think after finishing in dead last place--removing Geno now would at least give all BU fans and supporters some hope that we DO plan to rise up out of the cellar and are nor gonna wait any longer
                                Bradley football--undefeated again this year
