Bradley football?

And there is no way the owners of Dozer Park would allow football practices and games to be played on their turf while their baseball season was still going on. So that poses another serious problem to the revival of football, they would not have anywhere to play. Being a private school, they cannot get taxpayers to build and maintain a stadium for them.

An option for games could be at Eastside, as they are in the process of putting artificial turf on to replace the natural grass. Robert Morris - Peoria plays there.

But before Bradley even entertains the thought, and they never will, they need to get their house in order.

They certainly wouldn't be able to practice there; on that I completely agree. Depending on playoff scenarios, the stadium would be available as early as Labor Day, and maybe as late as the the first Saturday in October if the Chiefs make a championship run.

I think the only way Bradley could play football would be non-scholarship I-AA football (like Drake). Which leads to the question, can you get 75-80 good football players to pay their own way to play football at Bradley?

I really believe you could around here---and then compete with teams like Drake (without offering scholarships and jeopardizing Title IX)--and practice at Shea or the Stadium--with games at Eastside to start out. As others have said--our campus atmosphere would clearly benefit from having a football program to follow--added interest around campus--back to a marching band-- and go back to having a REAL homecoming etc--it just adds so much to the college experience and would be an attraction for prospective students.

-Their Athletic Director who also serves as VP of the University still makes less than our AD...
