I cannot imagine that JG will have any decision making process of the next coach or AD. She can make recommendations, but I expect the BOT will first hire the AD and the next coach will be hired with the approval of the new AD.

I don't understand why the BOT let Cross and Glasser hang on send them packing.

            Next Year?.....

The very thought that Joanne Glasser is having any kind of viable input to selecting the next coach scares H-LL out of me. After all we have been through to get these changes made and to get BU back on track, I cannot believe that the BOT would be so derelict and irresponsible. Something is really wrong with BU if this is how our trustees are thinking.

I could not agree with you more. You talk about a lack of credibility. I didn't even know that it was official Geno had been fired and the university was actively looking for a new head coach. If this is true, the university is totally bush league.

For what it's worth, this name is getting serious consideration, and was suggested and is being pushed by outgoing President Glasser.

Since there were some people who blew a gasket the last time I correctly predicted a firing a week before anyone else reported it, I will not post this name right now.

But if anyone is interested in this development, I am happy to share what I know.

Could it be because it was posted on this board before the individual fired had not been officially notified? And if this isn't true, why was it taken down?

Can't answer for sure. The spokesman for Bradley said our information was wrong, but that was not the case.

The information was correct, the timing was wrong. The individual should have been told by the university, before it hit the message boards.

Vent - every firing that has happened at Bradley since the invention of the message boards has been discussed on the message boards before or regardless of whether the "timing was right" or the info made known publicly...

I actually do slightly agree with you that there's a degree of etiquette & fairness about what gets said - except for a few factors....

#1 - even Kirk Wessler two weeks earlier had said essentially the exact same thing, that Dr. Cross would be following Dr. Glasser out the door - nobody blew a gasket then?

#2 - there was a discussion on a different board with claims that Jim Les had been fired back in March 2010... a full year before it actually did happen.
(but of course it did not happen in 2010)
A couple of the posters - one in particular who swore his claims were true and staked his reputation on it - claimed Les had been fired by Glasser--
the discussion became so intense - that Kirk Wessler even wrote an article about all these rumors-
must not have had anything factual to talk about that day...

The huge difference this time around is that while Dave Reynolds was tweeting that it was NOT true and that the Bradley people were "saying it was not true" - it was, in fact TRUE - and it was THEM who were either wrong or lying!

I agree too! Someone tell Coach K BU is going to pass on him, cause JG and BOT are pushing for him. The nerve of the BOT to listen to JG or search before AD named and GF officially released!

nope - never said that -
I thought I made myself quite clear - I was pointing out ONLY ONE THING

... I am 100% consistent and have thought in each situation we ought to be careful with attitude when someone is let go - I never went ballistic the other times it happened- and I posted plainly that I did not favor discussing it based on rumor two weeks ago... 100% consistent..

I was only pointing out that the ONLY people who are inconsistent here and hypocritical - are those who argue it's perfectly OK to discuss firings & rumors when it applies to people they don't like - but that it is wrong, hurtful, and has to be removed when it involves the people THEY SUPPORT.

Sounds like the decision has been made, especially if we are talking to other coaches to find out if they are interested. It just won't become official until sometime after our final game. It just doesn't make us look very good when we're looking at candidates for a position that's not even officially available.
