  • 2006 - A Great Year

Can anyone deny that for Bradley basketball, 2006 was a really great year. Not just the trip to the NCAA and the Sweet Sixteen, but the great new recruits coming in and the fine play this year when BU was supposed to be a 9th place team in the Valley.

But if you need even more evidence that 2006 was a great year, check this out.....

Bradley's record in the calendar year 2006 was

    25-12

That's good enough for the 6th best (tie) calendar year EVER!
AND-- only once has Bradley done any better in the past 45 years, with this (25 wins) being the BEST single calendar year in wins since 26 season!

    "A Year for the Ages

???‚¬?? Saturday???‚¬?„?s 85-78 victory versus Evansville gave Bradley a final 25-12 record for the 2006 calendar year.

???‚¬?? Bradley???‚¬?„?s 25 wins in 2006 were the most by the Braves in one calendar year since they racked up a 25-7 mark in 1986, equaling the sixth-most wins in one year in the program???‚¬?„?s 103-year history:

    Year W L Pct.
    1950 35 3 .921
    1960 30 1 .968
    1947 28 7 .800
    1948 27 2 .931
    1980 26 6 .813
    2006 25 12 .676
    1986 25 7 .781
    1964 25 5 .833
    1959 25 5 .833
    1951 25 12 .676

Jim Les has the program doing well.
And it is fun to watch BU basketball.
Outside of the Michigan State game, most of those 12 losses in 2006 were still exciting to watch.
Two of them were tournament games, and Bradley was at least battling in every other game with a chance to win.

Nice win over UE, and now on to this stretch of 3 games this week.

Nice to see Jim Les has been involved in the last 2 greatest seasons in recent memory.
