My hope for a new AD is someone who can work w/ all of the people and puts in the time to talk to the people that have given up their season tickets (I truly believe not all of them are just because BU has been loosing). Maybe we even have to drop ticket prices to get some people back until we start winning.
I want someone who will get out to the Central IL community and do some great PR work-not just to a few of his buddies. Also someone who holds all of his coaches accountable and not tell us how good they are doing just because he hired them.
I am sure their are many qualified candidates and some possibly w/ Central IL ties that understand what BU means to Central IL

Please hire someone who KNOWS and cares about the tradition of Bradley basketball and who knows what the team means to this community. Bring back time honored activities to get people interested again. Not the players fault as they are doing the best they can.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

I wonder if there is anyone from the Chicago suburbs with athletic director/coaching experience that would be a good fit.

I think the benefit of getting a "Chicago-guy" is overrated...

First - we have one, and just exactly how many games has it won us - I can't think of any

Second - from what I hear, this whole Chicago AAU connection thing is already blowing up in our faces.
We have no team chemistry even though it was hyped for the entire past two years that we were going to have GREAT team chemistry!

And last - I have heard that Ron Coleman - Josh Cunningham relationship may be having a negative effect on the team and others have observed this as well.

But teams from South Dakota or Iowa don't have to kiss AAU butts or shoe company butts, because they largely recruit kids who are under the radar or who are away from the big city AAU programs where the shoe guys throw the money around.
Don't see what so hard to understand about it - I just gave links to where Izzo, Coach K, Pitino, Calipari, and every other major coach all agree that the shoe companies have the big city AAU guys in their pockets and the shoe companies get what they want - pretty much all the time.
If you happen to find or spot a single possible exception then wouldn't it be foolish to claim that proves the whole scenario untrue?

Anyway - we have now spent a ton, hired a Chicago AAU guy and we're worse & getting deeper in last place every single season since he got here.
All this Chicago talent is overhyped to begin with (Shaw, Bell, XT, Morgan, Donte - all sitting the bench now) and the few that have talent come with a hook in them that ends up sinking your team's morale & chemistry.

There are guys who have been at Bradley in the past at the Associate A.D. level who I think would love to come back to Peoria and get things turned around.

I wouldn't want to post their names without their permission. I suspect that you would know who they are.

And I really hope Associate AD for External Affairs Brett Burchette gets a chance. He is a very capable administrator with tremendous experience.
Page Not Found (404): It looks like you're lost... The page you are looking for no longer exists.

And former BU Assistant Athletic Director for External Affairs John Searby would be a good candidate. I think he is now working in the private marketing/advertising sector.

Wow....you get excited pretty easily. I wasn't even talking about getting a coach from Chicago. Maybe I misread the thread this is but I thought it was titled "Next Athletic Director?" I also really don't know what would be wrong with being able to get a quality, respected athletic director and former coach, such as Ron Ferguson.

It's easy and maybe fashionable to be negative about everything others right. But if you're going to be negative, at least counterpoint it with the same topic, the person posted about.

Is there anything you do like?

                            Next Athletic Director

Brett Burchette has a terrific background and resume. he is a Midwesterner, was at Indiana State for awhile, coached basketball, etc. I had a long meeting with him several weeks ago and was very impressed...He really listens and I believe he would be a very good A D.

lots.. and I suspect these will meet with your approval...
                              winning basketball
                              winning baseball
                              packed home arenas
personable staff, talented players, coaches that win games, and even mascots that don't frighten little kids
..I don't have the time or I could list more -- I was pretty darned happy with just about everything at Bradley - over most of the past 35 years...

But just when we were having a great time - they force out Versace and made a bad hire

then just when I was looking forward to that great group of young Molinari players (Granger, Tisby, Tucker, Gilbert, etc...) then they fired him and created a ruckus with a dysfunctional search committee.

Then about the time we were really rolling, coming off a Sweet Sixteen and among the best MVC teams, then they ran out the AD, several assistant coaches, and finally the head coach and sent us into a horrible spiral that we've yet to recover from.

So pretty much 30 of the last 35 years I have been exceptionally happy (as I suspect you have, too) and I have said so with my support, my loyalty to the program & my attendance, and also with my money -

All I have ever asked in return is some good basketball and up til the past 4-5 years we had a satisfactory amount in my judgement. So you see, I am actually pretty easy to please, cuz I was happy when a few others were miserable and wanted to run out those people who are NOW doing exceptionally well with other programs (and we could have been there).

I like Chris Reynolds - but here's a bit of news that might tilt his decision towards staying at Northwestern.

They ahve just raised $2.2 Billion for campus improvements...

-landing a $92 million gift yesterday - LINK

-Just last month they landed a $100 million gift - LINK

Their current fund raising campaign will greatly benefit Athletics
"The campaign's goals are broad and will pay for new buildings, including an athletics and recreation complex along Lake Michigan ... student scholarships...."
