Apparently still falling...
Someday we will all look back on these years
and think, wow, BU sure has come a long way since then.
The past years remind me of the way I felt when I saw some of the old time BU MBB scores and thought 'wow, BU sure stumbled/struggled way back then'.

How far we have fallen - this game used to be the epitome of a college rivalry game and it's all up in smoke in the short span of 3-4 years!
Let me help for those like Kirk Wessler, who try to lie about history - but this BU-ISU game was a rocking home event at Carver just a couple years ago - that drew over 10,500 in 2011, & over 11,000 for all those years before ....years KW keeps telling us attendance was on the decline! BS, attendance IS on the decline but it's because of the horrible mess we're seeing now since the fallout started at the hands of Glasser/Cross.
we shoot 29 % from the field, 23% from the arc and throw about a dozen passes right into the waiting hands of the ISU guys...
those were the easiest dozen steals they are ever gonna see....
attendance of 7349 announced but it was really under 6000 and kinda snoozing - but how can you blame them when we had just FIVE total points in the first TEN minutes of the game
and then had just 12 at the 4 min mark in the 1st half...no wonder fans were snoozing - this offense we run, whether by intent or incompetence, makes Jim Molinari's offenses look like Grinnell!
Every single aspect of our offense ranks in the 340's among 350 D-I teams - amazing -
Also- we hit 20 losses for the 3rd time in the Geno Ford 4-year era- and now have 82 losses in this 4-year stretch but wait....
now we go play UNI so it is fully possible we'll lose our next four also...sad.....
For all you guys who wanted this and swore we'd be so much better right away and that this was rebuilding the right way - hope you're having fun!Comment

Only good news: We can only lose one more home game. Geno stated on the radio that he could not understand how we could be such poor shooters, especially within 8 feet from the basket. But, we have seen this all year and have seen no improvement. Sutherland was supposed to be the difference maker and he was 2 for 10 in shooting. I do not think Bradley could beat Augustana College, if we had to replay them again.Comment

Well, this sounds like a broken record, but here goes-
What a painfully awful game to watch. Bradley's offense is the worst I have ever seen in Division I basketball. And again, as always, Geno just spent 10 minutes on his post-game show blaming everything on his players and beating the "shots just aren't falling-excuse" to death. He even described several of Bradley's offensive possessions in great detail just to make sure everyone listening knows how bad our players are at shooting the ball.
He even said that John Wooden wouldn't be able to win with these players, but that is an absurd statement. Anyone who puts Geno and John Wooden in the same sentence belongs in an insane asylum. At least John Wooden, and 99% of the other head coaches in the world would know what kind of adjustments to make to help their team win. Geno and his staff are completely clueless.
One more memo to Geno- these are the players who you recruited and gave scholarships to, and these are the players who were hyped endlessly as being more talented, more athletic, and more depth than Bradley has had for decades.
Like most fans, I am sick of hearing the coach continuously lambaste his own players as talentless, selfish, and unable to shoot or play the game.
This is all getting old. Bradley needs a new President, a new AD, a new team, a new coach, a new everything. Nothing could be worse than watching another game with this group.
Here are the stats-
Bradley 16-54 for 29.6%, and 4-17 from three (23.5%)
Dave and Chad awarded the Player of the Game to Omari Grier, because he was the leading scorer with just 10 points, and he was the only players who didn't brick more shots than he made. However, I would not have given it to anyone, since Omari played defense like he was wearing a perpetual blindfold. I'd hate to see his plus/minus stats for the time he was on the floor, I am sure they were bad.
Illinois State has some good athletes, but they do not have a good point guard, and they have too many players who want to shoot rather than pass. They should be easier to defend than it appeared tonight. But Bradley's defense isn't much better than their offense, which is horrendous.
Current standings after 15 games-
This loss is Bradley's 20th of the season (8-20 and 7-20 vs. D1), and 82nd loss in the Geno Ford era (45-82). No coach in Bradley's history has lost more than 67 games in any 4-year stretch, and Geno has already blasted his way into the record book for BAD with 82, with at least 4 more games to go!. It clinches a bottom 4 finish for Bradley, though that has been a foregone conclusion for a long time. It will take a miracle for Bradley to finish above 9th place
The MVC has now fallen to 12th place in conference RPI-
And Bradley's RPI has dropped to 293, worst in the MVC, and the worst RPI in the history of Bradley basketball.-

As I said from the Valley Tournament last year -- any team that practices dunks in warmups the way Bradley practices dunks -- is UNDISCIPLINED. I sat and watched 20 dunks as they goofed around-- realize these are uncontested dunks -- I can do that in my driveway too. I watched ISU warm up on the other end without noticing any dunks. Muller sat there watching his kids warmup -- I didn't see Geno doing the same.
It looked like Bradley kids were just at an open gym showing off -- maybe they should be taking the shots they take in the game -- or practicing free throws.
There were a couple of kids taking it seriously but not many.
I heard geno say he thought the team was tight -- that team isn't tight -- they plain don't have the discipline to be tight.
Now dunking in warmups didn't lose the game but it's probably symbolic of how disciplined they are in other aspects of preparation.Comment

discipline part II
by the way, I follow both teams very closely -- ISU was playing without one of their best/entergetic guards (Bobby Hunter) and also Wills. I'm not sure why but I've heard speculation it has to do with their attitude in practice.
Could they have been a little "undisciplined" and maybe a "decent" coach is giving them a lesson that they sit if they approach "the game" like that?
It's all about coaching when it comes to attitude.Comment

bula-bloom, I have mentioned that before, and others have attacked me for it suggesting I was looking for minutia to harp on. But in his 4 seasons here, Bradley's team strolls out of the dressing room and warms up by jacking threes from all over the floor and practicing their dunk moves.
Every other team I have ever seen come into the Carver Arena runs out in an organized, disciplined fashion, runs an organized layup drill, then breaks into organized 2 on 2 drills, or 3 on 3 drills. Bradley is the only team I have ever witnessed that uses its warm-up time to smile, laugh, tell jokes to each other, and practice their street-ball moves without a shred of discipline or organization. Every high school team shows more discipline that Bradley.
That is on the coaching staff. And maybe if they ever won games they should have, nobody would care. But this program is the laughingstock of the MVC, and of the country. What an embarrassment. Yet those in charge think we are all crazy and they are the experts and know what they are doing. It is like the inmates running the asylum.Comment

And I forgot to add one thing- those all-time record 82 losses and that all-time worst RPI of 293 have been registered in these last 4 seasons despite playing horrendously weak nonconference schedules, and in a greatly weakened MVC. Just how much worse would things be if we still had Creighton in the league pounding our asses 2 times a year, instead of a far weaker Loyola team, and if the bottom 5 or 6 teams weren't so pathetically weak?!Comment
