Jerrance Howard was an intriguing initial coaching prospect for BU. For obvious reasons (ethical, decision making ability, legal, etc.) he is now a bad choice and should not be hired. There are other alternatives and there is no need to be obligated to persist pushing his name at this point. If the administration is stupid enough to hire him now, I know myself and others will continue withholding donations.

Anyone would be better than what we have now. I will support anyone we hire. If the Board fails to dismiss this current inept coaching staff, I will be cancelling any further tickets and cancelling donations and pledges.
I never thought I would say that, but then nobody ever thought this Bradley program could ever sink to the depths of embarrassment and ineptitude that it is now.

If the changes aren't made I would recommend we start a "Do not renew" campaign. If we really get desperate and decide to go to a game we will be able to sit wherever we want anyway-and no maintenance fee.

If changes are not made to the AD and coach, there will be no need for a campaign "not to renew". There will be another significant loss in renewals of season ticket holders. I sit 6 rows behind the visitor's bench and there were 11 unoccupied out of 15 seats available in my row. Some of these are non-renewals and most are no-shows. I talked to the dad of a Loyola freshman player, Ben Richardson, yesterday, and he was enlightened as to far our fan base has disappeared since the Sweet Sixteen. He came from Kansas City and he was informed that we had more no-shows than fans in the seats.

Yes, the losing has driven a lot of fans away. But much of the massive decline in fan support has been caused by really bad decision making by the Bradley administration in just the last 3 or 4 years.
The botched firing of the last coach, and the embarrassing public fiasco of refusing to pay him what they owed him.
The hiring process that saw numerous coaching candidates turn Bradley down, then introduce the current coach as the only coach we offered the job to.
Firing an effective AD, and other coaches and replacing them with choices who have not been as effective.
In addition to men's and women's basketball, most other sports are also embarrassingly bad.
Elimination of preseason fan-centered events like the Itoo Hall event, the preseason banquet, the Red-White scimmage (eliminated, then brought back and put after a volleyball game, then reduced this year to a pathetic, cold outdoor riverfront gathering of a few dozen people), spaghetti supper or chili supper, open practices, midnight madness-type events, etc.
Eliminating the post-season basketball awards banquet for team and fans.
Tried to change the Bradley name from Braves to Brave, when Bradley had already won that battle with the NCAA (they were rebuked by fans on this one).
Spending a hundred thousand dollars to change the Bradley logo to the bland new logo that nobody outside of Peoria recognizes anyway.
Forcing the gargoyle mascot down the throats of Bradley fans.
Now the administration says they want to downsize and move games to the Renaissance Coliseum.
Instituting the largest ticket price increase in Bradley history right in the middle of the worst period of Bradley basketball which helped fuel the largest decline in attendance, season-ticket sales, donations, and revenue in Bradley's history.
Essentially eliminating local and regional TV coverage for Bradley.
Downgraded the non-conference schedule, especially the home schedule, to insure there would be no non-conference games that were of any interest to fans, but maybe a couple extra wins to try to make the abysmal record look a little better.
Eliminated the Braves Club room and nearly all Braves Club events.
And add to all this a media that keeps treating the fans as if they are stupid by telling fans the recruits are the best since the Hersey Hawkins era, that the team has more size, skill, and depth than any time in the recent past, and that the team "light years" better under the current coach, while we've now witnessed 81 losses in these last 4 seasons (14 more than in any 4 year stretch under any coach in Bradley history) with a pretty good chance that number will climb 4 or 5 more before this painful season ends.
There is even much more that fans have to be dissatisfied with, but I'll stop there and just hope we see the Board of Trustees take the necessary further steps to make Bradley sports respectable again.

I still see clueless fans - and even worse, clueless or dishonest media folks claiming that the historic shrinkage of the home attendance actually can be blamed on someone or people from 2006 or 2007.
..(who left and instantly generated a double & tripling of the basketball attendance somewhere else)
Wish we had the kind of problems they have at those guys' new institutions where they are already undergoing expanding their arenas!

Retire? Cross is 47 years old and I don't think this is a retirement.
They have already been tipped off & made the correction
