And Wichita State has never trailed and leads Illinois State with about 10 minutes to play

ISU never lead in the game against Wichita State, but they did slowly cut the lead down to 2 points with under 3 minutes left in the game. But some poor shot selection and defensive lapses in the final couple minutes allowed Wichita State to pull away. Then a couple long threes by DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell closed the gap again, but it wasn't enough.
Final score: Wichita State 68 Illinois State 62

Wichita never trailed in the game and came up with the W against Illinois State 68-62. Both teams struggled with their shooting in the 1st half and the lead see sawed between 4 and 9 points. The Shockers led at the half 27-21. ISU cut it to 2 a few times in the 1st 4 minutes but the Shockers were able to extend their lead to 50-39, their biggest of the game, with 8:48 left. ISU still had some fight in them as they went on a 9 point run during the next 2 1/2 minutes to cut the lead to 50-48. ISU had a couple of chances to either tie the game or go up on a 3 pointer during the next few minutes but just couldn't do it. Wichita gradually pulled away as ISU went about 5 minutes without a FG. It also didn't help that Reggie Lynch, who had 10 points and 8 rebounds, fouled out with 4:52 left. ISU had to foul and Wichita made most of their FT's to seal the game, going 26-31 from the FT line. Ron Baker led Wichita with 19 while DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell led ISU with 18. Wichita outrebounded ISU by 13and held another team to under 45% shooting from the field.

You're just too fast Da Coach. There's still a scenario in which BU can finish 6th. We beat Loyola and ISU Red at home this week, Drake loses at Evansville and Loyola gets beat at home by UNI and we are all tied up at 5-10 with 3 games to go. Drake has an easier 3 games as they are at home against Missouri State and Loyola and finish at SIU. We go to UNI and Missouri State and finish at home against ISU Blue. Loyola goes to ISU Red and Drake and finish at home against MSU. We have to go 4-1 to have a chance for 6th but all Drake has to do is go 2-2 to finish 7-11 and they have the tiebreaker over us. Now considering there has been only 1 time this year that we've actually won 2 games in a row and that we have lost 34 straight games west of the Mississippi our chances don't look too pretty.
