I think not telling his boss when it happened was probably a pretty big mistake.

can't recall the last time Kirk Wessler posted an article like this about the Kansas staff
He isn't a beat reporter and there can be only one reason - cuz he wants to stay in charge of the BU coaching/hiring search

If he didn't tell his boss. With so few details available we can't know if he and Bill Self decided to handle it quietly or if this will be the first time Self hears of it too. That would be a question that would have to be asked in any potential interview.

Unfortunately for Jerrance, Self is on the record stating that he just found out about the incident this afternoon.

if we lose to Drake, I think most BU fans would make the change anyway

KW has never been in charge of a coaching search.

We have another PJS editor trying to influence Bradley hiring decisions. Doesn't this seem familiar.

Amen! That may be the funniest and most non factual thing I've heard in a long time. If he is in charge of it, than there is no need for the Board of Trustees.

Lefty, with respect, I don't believe we said in charge but trying to have a big influence on a candidate. Look at the problems caused by another editor in 2002 and subsequent years. I still recall his article when Les did not inform them of Ruffin's availability.

Does this obstacle force the Board of Trustees to take Jerrnace off the short list of potential replacements?

Nobody can say what the Board is thinking. If they proceed with changes as Kirk Wessler predicted in his Jan. 24 column-
                          http://www.pjstar.com/article/201501...5/12696/SPORTS (see 2nd paragraph on page 2)

...you would have to be an ldiot to believe Glasser’s retirement was all her choice, or that her departure was not negotiated.
And if Ford and athletics director Michael Cross are adept at reading signals, they’ll know Glasser’s impending exit means their time here is short — if not out.

Then it seems likely that Kirk's revelation about this past legal issue does hurt any chance Jerrance might have had to be considered.

KW must have been reading this board and finding out the rumors. It's obvious Howard isn't his choice with the timing of this article. Hope the BOT has as much use for his opinions as the rest of us do.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

Wessler is obviously got his own agenda. There was no point to the article at all besides to tarnish Howard's reputation and make sure he doesn't stand a chance at the Bradley job. Wessler should be run out of town along with Ford, Cross and Glasser.
