The RPI's of all but Northern Iowa, Wichita and Illinois State are not very good at all. This is just my opinion, but the only thing that separates the Valley from lower mid-major conferences, are our top two or three teams.
If you think back to when the bracket buster was being played, the Valley seemed to be finish with around a .500 record. In fact, as the Valley got weaker, it was common knowledge that the bracket buster actually hurt the league more than it helped.

It is hard to believe, that while being in a league that is as weak as the Valley from teams 4 though 10, we still can't get out of the cellar.

                Recap:

UNI beats ISU Red 83-64. ISU led 3-0 and never led again. UNI extended the lead to double digits and were never threatened. Seth Tuttle led UNI with 23 while Daishon Knight had 16 for the Redbirds. UNI shot 55% from the field and were 12-27 from 3 while ISU shot 41% from the field and were just 8 for 25 from 3.

Wichita and ISU Blue had a game for about 11 minutes until the Shockers dropped the hammer as they outscored the Sycamores 26-10 in the last 10 minutes of the half. ISU couldn't get it back to single digits. Fred Van Fleet had 21 for Wichita while Tre' Bennett had 11 for ISU.

Drake beat BU 60-54 as the Bulldogs were a perfect 14 for 14 from the FT line and were 10 of 18 from 3. BU only had 5 turnovers for the game and had 21 more shots than Drake but as we have most of the year just came up short in the end. Reed Timmer had 19 for Drake including a killer 3 off of Drake's only offensive rebound of the game. For BU Tramique had another outstanding game as he had 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists while once again playing 40 minutes. Josh had 10 rebounds while playing 38 minutes a few days after having an asthma attack. Nate played a career high 28 minutes and had 6 points and 4 rebounds which is leaps and bounds better than we've seen from the center position for awhile.

In the game of the night Loyola and SIU went back and forth throughout the game as there were 19 lead changes and 13 ties. SIU last lead was at 56-55 with 6:43 left but would only score 7 points the rest of the way. Loyola only scored 11 points but it was enough for the win 66-63. Loyola shot 55% for the game and were led in scoring by Montel James with 19. SIU's Deion Lavender had 17.

Drake and Loyola are tied for 6th at 5-8 and unless something strange happens the winner of their game on the 25th at Drake should decide the position. But this is the Valley so.......

                  Thanks for the summaries.

Loyola won tonight despite the fact that their top player was not available. Milton Doyle missed his 7th straight game as he is is recovering from an ankle injury.

Bradley's next game is home against Loyola on Sunday (Feb. 15).
When Doyle was injured back on January 18th, it was said he would be out for about 4 weeks. That could mean he might be ready to return for the game Sunday.

ex-Manual guard Jeff "Keke" White, who Bradley looked at -
helped lead Loyola last night over SIU with a nice game...
8 assists, zero turnovers, 7 pts, 3 rebs.

We dropped off cuz we had Ka'Darryl Bell (last night 6 pt, zero assists)

BU has to get the solid guys outta our own back yard..
If not Jerrance, then David Booth? Westy? Billy Wright? Hey- I know I am thinking outside the box but we're not going to get Tom Izzo.
Is Wardle or Butler's Matt Graves still on people's minds?

<BU has to get the solid guys outta our own back yard..>

I see where Nick Norton, former Bloomington Central Catholic star guard now at UAB, has been named Conference USA Freshman of the Week for the second time this season. He is third in the conference in assists with 4.0 per game, fourth in assist/turnover ration (91-40), is shooting 88 percent from FT line and almost 40 percent from three-point.

We didn't have much of a chance to land him -- his Dad is women's coach at UAB -- but wish we could get some shooter-leaders like him.

Like maybe Alec Peters? He wasn't athletic enough to play at Bradley. Yet he could end up as Player of the Year in the Horizon League as a sophomore.

Didn't Giacoletti just start his imposing job at rebuilding Drake only about 18 months ago -

how comes he's already ahead of where we are four years into the GF era-
...and that Kirk Wessler has been telling us all along is being done the right way and showing light years of improvement...
Didn't Drake just sweep us in the season series and now own a 3-game winning streak on us? we are headed for the 10-seed again despite the hype about being so much better and competing for championships.

Drake now has a better overall record than Bradley, they are 2 full games ahead of Bradley in the MVC standings, plus with the sweep of Bradley they own a tiebreaker, though it's unlikely they will need it.
And they have a little easier remaining schedule (INSU, UE, MSU, LU, and SIU), that Bradley has (LU, ILSU, UNI, MSU, INSU), and I would not be surprised to see them be the team that escapes the Thursday play-in games.
Their RPI now is 209, significantly better than Bradley's (280), and they have a nice group of young players.
So yes, even though Drake has had their problems this season, I'd say using the PJ Star/KW comparison scale, they are already ahead of Bradley "by a light year or two".
