  • Valley Up To Date Standings

    Current Standings

    UNI 11-1
    Wichita State 11-1
    Indiana State 8-4
    Illinois State 7-5
    Evansville 6-6
    Loyola 4-8
    Drake 4-8
    SIU 3-9
    BU 3-9
    Missouri State 3-9

UNI has the tiebreaker over Wichita and Loyola has the tie breaker over Drake. UNI plays at Wichita in the last game of the regular season while Loyola plays at Drake in the 2nd to the last game of the season. Hard to believe that Evansville beat UNI on New Years Day considering where both teams are at right now. Missouri State playing like they can't wait for the season to end. BU needs to win their next 2 games, at Drake and home to Loyola, to have a chance at 6th. ISU Red gets their chance the next 2 games against the big boys, at UNI and home to Wichita. Evansville still has to play at both UNI and Wichita so they need to turn it around in a hurry. Should be frustratingly fun to see what happens.

here's an interesting opinion from the Indiana State writer --
    I would term this a LOSER's philosophy....

that Indiana State is happy to have traded Creighton for Loyola because they could never beat Creighton but they regularly beat Loyola...
in other words - just for the sake of racking up a few more wins against RPI 200-300 opponents, they'd rather have a weak team than a strong one in the MVC!
    "It's been good for us"!!!

Maybe if this is what really makes Indiana State happy - they should just move to the SWAC or Southland Conferences where they can beat everybody?

That is absolutely sad and ridiculous. Maybe now if they could just get rid of that pesky Shocker team and replace them with UIC, they could have a shot of winning the title.

Here are the current RPI's. Note all it took was one win over an Evansville team with an RPI in the low 100's for Bradley's RPI to improve fro 293 to 271.

Tell Indiana State not to join the weak Sunbelt Conference either. Their fourth place team, Texas-Arlington, beat us by 11 on our home court this year.

A BU win and an SIU win tonight creates a log jam for 6th place! Let's do this! Go BU!

The Strength of Schedule tiebreaker favors us only vs. SIU..so we may have to pass 3-4 of them to get out of Thursday

ISU's current record of 7-5 could well be 7-7 after their next two games against the leaders (UNI & Wichita)
and whoever's sitting in 6th could well be 6-8 or 5-9 and be breathing down ISU's neck...
I would love to be right there and make a run even for 5th place - so it starts tonight - gotta shoot well against Drake's defense
