Chicago Orr vs. Chicago Morgan Park...Public League Tournament ....two of the powerhouse teams in Chicago went head to head...
Morgan Park is coached by Nick Irvin who runs the Mac Irvin Fire and the entire team are Fire players that Josh Cunningham played with..
Morgan Park was heavily favored but Orr pulled the upset...78-69
but there's a whole lot more intrigue....
Just before the game the Chicago Public League informed Orr that they were under investigation for use of ineligible players - and when the game started the Orr head coach and one of their best players (Lavonte Sutton) a transfer from Carbondale were not on the bench.
The Public League said the results of the investigation might cause Orr to forfeit all their games this season, but they allowed Orr to proceed to play today as the investigation goes on.
Anyway - Orr wins & Morgan Park loses - and this comment by Morgan Park head coach Irvin complaining about having to play Orr and he should have been awarded a win by forfeit.
"Realistically (Orr) probably shouldn’t be in the playoffs because of the eligibility factor.”
