wow - anyone watch the end of the ISU-SIU game....

just when ISU battles back, goes ahead late in the game and was in a perfect position to win the game

then they instantly morph into their streetball mode and they looked horrible, terrible forced shots when doubleteamed, bad passes, non-existent defense, ill-advised fouls on guys who can make FT's, wild charging fouls, totally undisciplined --
that last minute and a half they did everything their coach surely just told them NOT TO DO, and got outscored 8-2 over the final minute.
ISU fans have to be bummed - they have wayyyy more talent than the teams they are losing to...

Good win for SIU to tie us in last place and Missouri State will join us in a couple hours after their game at Wichita.

Indiana State up 33-25 at Loyola...
remember how everyone was touting Loyola as the real surprise quality team in the MVC?
They are about to drop to 4-8 in the MVC, get into the race for Thursday, and are within striking distance of us!

Creighton got blown out again - they're 2-10 - their starters only scored 21 pts, their subs scored 45 points - so who is picking their lineup??

Illini lose their best players - and they beat Michigan State today -- it's been a great day for subs!!!

Xavier won but Matt Stainbrook was scoreless - hey, I'm glad we didn't land him in transfer - we have Nate Wells & three other backups that Geno recruited

In conference RPI the MAC is again within a thread of passing the MVC - only 7/10,000 of a point behind us

Another wild and wacky day in the MVC. In our game Tramique led BU with 18 points. DJ Balentine had 22 for Evansville and was 8 for 13 from the field, 5-9 from 3. The rest of the team was 11-34 from the field, 1-9 from 3.

SIU had double digit leads in both halves, lost the lead late and somehow pulled out a 65-59 win. SIU led by 18 in the first half and were still up by 13 with 7 1/2 minutes left in the 2nd half when ISU went on a 19-4 run during about the next 6 minutes to get their 1st lead since 2-0. Game was tied at 59 with about a minute to go when the dysfunctional Redbird team reared its ugly head. They only had 1 shot, 3 turnovers and 3 fouls in that last minute while SIU sandwiched 4 FT's around an Anthony Beane jumper to close out the game. Beane led SIU with 23 while Deion Lavender added 15. For ISU Red DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell had 19 and Reggie Lynch had 18.

ISU Blue never trailed against Loyola in their 79-65 win. ISU Blue led by 17 in the 1st half and other than when Loyola wasd able to get it into single digits during the middle of the game the Sycamores had it in cruise control. They shot 58% from the field, 10-19 fro 3 and 23-30 from the FT line. Devonte Brown led ISU Blue with 22 and Brenton Scott had 21 while for Loyola Earl Peterson had 21.

In the other 2 games UNI and Wichita are kicking some booty. Wichita leads Missouri State 49-15 with 15 minutes left while UNI leads Drake 48-33 with 12 minutes left. Matt Bohannon of UNI is 4-4 from 3 and has 15 points while Fred Van Fleet of Wichita has 5 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

yeah - both UNI & Wichita are winning big...

UNI wearing all Black home jerseys and their fans are doing the all Black-out
..the SIU uni's were ugly -- pink... even pink shoes & Barry had a pink tie.
                  the SIU fans shoulda pinked-out

close losses to ISU blue and WSU looking better...

Hmm, maybe BU is playing better; WSU returned to form and ISU blue did well.

I wonder if our "mostly big" line up is just a better line up than our 3-guard one. As someone said on the other board: we aren't going to be a good offensive team, but our big line up is a better defensive line up.

Let's see what happens at UNI this Wednesday.

                          Fred Van Vleet had a triple-double - 10 pts, 10 rebs, 11 assists...
it was the first triple-double in 43 years for Wichita State, and he is only the ninth player in DI with a triple-double this season (see link below)

Only two BU players have ever done it...

but get this...a BYU kid just set the NCAA record last night with his FIFTH triple-double this season!
