Bradley University salaries per BU Scout

The Bradley Scout editorial calls out the
"STEEP SPENDING" - especially in athletics and demands
"JUSTIFICATION"
"Why are unsuccessful coaches and athletic employees receiving such high compensations?
And why is the athletics department as a whole spending so much more money than it makes?"
" It’s hard to understand why a department that rarely exemplifies these values is using up so many of the university’s resources."
"Our Bradley experience encompasses a variety of things, including our academics, organization activities, social lives and more.
It’s a shame to see this experience dampened by an administration throwing funds at unsuccessful programs and low-performing employees."

hard to know everything for sure, but there are sources...
almost NO school that doesn't have football pays their AD's as much as the schools that DO have football...
and $260K for a small midmajor that does not have football is exceptionally high
as you can see from one of our prior discussions - only about 75-80 schools in Division I pay their AD's $260K or more-
and all or extremely close to all are football schools
However the current forms list Dr. Cross' total compensation at $290,534
I am unaware of any school, private or public, without football that pays their AD that much

say what you want but if you believe all interested parties or even anyone is getting results or performance commensurate with what Bradley is paying - then I'd like you hear how you would come to that conclusion...
Certain people at Bradley have definitely "enjoyed" working with and for a "system" that pays all of them way at the top or over the top of any reasonable salary - even to the point where it seems everyone from JG - to MC - to Geno - are all so far above the median and at the top that it's striking -
Gregg Marshall (with Final Four & 35-1 seasons on his resume) is the only guy being paid more than Geno
..and we've seen other data showing others far at the top of what's being paid statewide, nationwide, etc...
And I'd say great if we're making Final Fours or whatever - but if we're the worst team in the MVC then someone's being overpaid.
But all we hear is whining about "how hard it is", and "we've really done a great job - the fans are just uneducated..."
and fans are being mean in what they say about all the money we earn...(which is funny because nobody here's being mean - just quoting references and expressing simple polite opinions)
I have never been one to agonize over who earns what - and if someone's willing to pay Michael Jordan $40 million or Tiger Woods $60 mil or A-Rod $225 mil - more power to 'em....
But as long as we're on the subject of being paid way more than the average but producing results WAY below average then I strongly recommend you read that Scout editorial.

One line from that article caught my eye-
Wednesday night’s game brought with it booing from the student section directed at Cross, which was met with threats by an athletics employee to have the noise-making student removed from the arena.
I am not in favor of fans shouting anything negative at players or other BU personnel, but I am also not in favor of the athletic administration threatening to eject paying fans from the arena because they boo'ed.

sorry to hear that
I have sat in the same seats for over 30 years - I have never heard anyone on my entire side of the arena boo or act that childishly or obnoxiously
I guess it wouldn't surprise me if a rare student with zero common sense or intelligence did it or even some lame-brain fan who really isn't a Bradley fan - just someone who wants to cause a stir..
but even tho I honor a fan's right to express displeasure - I don't like it and some behavior can cross the line so I am glad they threw the animal out.
