Nate Wells won this game for Geno - Geno owes the kid dinner for life... and Nate should start for the rest of the season..

For life?.....start the rest of the season?.....the other night he plays and gets 2 fouls in 30 seconds...he had a good game today and I'm happy for him but I wouldn't proclaim him a hero

So there's really not enough incentive to bust their a**es and get better...so everyone's just going thru the motions...

I saw a game many years ago when Kentucky was playing in the NCAA Tournament --
the first half, head coach Joe B. Hall felt the starters weren't giving enough effort - so he STARTED the 2nd half with a bunch of deep bench players & walk-ons...and he left them in for a full 10 minutes - sending a POWERFUL signal to those blue-chipper starters - so that when he finally put his top players back in they played harder than ever and ended up winning the game.

Joe B. Hall talks about that game and that strategy here -- and how it worked to motivate his All Americans
You gotta read this story - this is what we need to do - start Jackson Kane, Nate Wells, Anthony Fields, etc...bench the "go-to" guys who ain't getting it done..

yup - give the kid his due - he's waited long enough and I think he's proved he deserves it - the only regret is that it took Geno 3 years to see it and keeps playing guys who don't help

Happy for the W......but happiest for Nate, with more minutes gaining some confidence that comes from PT he could outplay the other 3 centers who combined for ZERO pts and 2 rbs....Nates passion alone should get him some minutes....now on going 2-3 from the arc, did not see that coming!

Gotta disagree with ya lefty.....Like Nate over the other three all day long....you sound like Geno here.....hard to get a rhythm going after riding the pine and getting 1 minute a game....you should know better!

He was the hero of this game. Who else can we say has been a hero on this team at any time this season?
What part of illegal don't you understand?

Jones against MSU....or anyone who has been the leading scorer or hit a clutch shot in a close game........there hasn't been many close games this year that we have won.......

Do you think Nate would have made a difference in any other games this year?

That's my point....give him the same minutes you give Shaw and I think he will get at least double the stats.....how big would Michael Jordan's stat line be based on 1 minute a game?

Give them all, all?, credit. Why take this game away from the kid who deserves it? At least he keeps his nose clean and is able to dress every game.

Hey it can't hurt......I just don't think it will make that much of a difference.....

                          yes
seven of our losses were close - and 4-5 were within one possession late and I have said since early this season he could help...

instead - monster minutes keep going to these guys...
Shaw - today - ZERO points, ZERO rebounds, ZERO assists, ZERO anything
Morgan- today -ZERO points, ONE rebound, and zero anything else except 3 fouls
Xzavier- today -ZERO points, ONE rebound, and absolutely NOTHING else!!
...and remember - Evansville's big guy did NOT play and they really don't have anyone else that could account for why our Geno-recruited big men do so poorly - they simply are not playing DI-worthy at this point.

So - here, I'll make it simple...

                          A) The entire STABLE of 3 BIG men Geno recruited had zero points & 1 rebound
                          B) The only guy who was left over in the cupboard that Geno DID NOT recruit carried the team and won the game for us.

Maybe Nate is really a three guard .......been out of position his whole time @ Bradley.......3 point specialist? .

yes....I get the anti-Geno sentiment.........you guys love Nate...that's fine...I hope he has a monster remainder of the season.....I just don't think he will....that's all.

I know - he isn't likely to have great games from where he usually sits
