wichita state is looking a lot like us when we get in these situations, playing frantic and putting up dumb shots before they are neccessary...anyone else feel the same?
COMMIT TO THE INDIAN!!! - denis savard on his blackhawks, but we should adapt this as a bradley slogan.
This is just the start of a very interesting Valley season, every game is going to be a dog fight. GREAT GAME BY BOTH TEAMS!! Came down to the final shot.
good game...too bad this wasnt the nfl, coleman coulda gotten 15 yards for his throat slash move after that last free throw...i liked the comment at the end of the telecast about this being the best non-bcs conference...but we're better than some of those bcs conferences too...

This season is gonna be very comical to watch and listen to the mouth-pieces. I think someone should save all the articles, comments, etc and put them in a file to save them for later.
Someone already mentioned in another thread how we can say goodbye to our only ranked team from our conference. I think he may be right.
The pollsters are NOT gonna know what to do with the MVC. They will only want to rank one team, but which one will be the problem.
So we will see 3-5 MVC teams high amongst those receiving votes with one cracking in from time to time.
What is truely sad... the NCAA Selection Committee takes into consideration of how high and how long you are/were ranked. What a stinkin sham! The pollsters are biased to protect their own interests (and their own conferences/teams to boost money revenue from the tourney that they help determine the field for based on their polls).

To be fair, there are a lot of teams from the BCS leagues that aren't ranked that have decent records. Only Ohio State, Michigan State, and Wisconsin are in the polls from the Big 10. Stalwarts like Kentucky and Syracuse aren't ranked either. The problem with the ratings system as we know it is looking at the teams that are receiving votes and how they are perceived. Right now, I wouldn't have Syracuse or Villanova ahead of Drexel since the Dragons beat both teams on the road. Still, DU is garnering little support nationally, and with the so-called Eastern bias the pollsters have been tagged with, that's sort of surprising. I think some of the voters are a bit lazy when it comes to choosing the last five or six teams in a weekly poll, and part of that is attributed to the fact that there are 336 schools playing division 1 basketball now, as opposed to 272 schools 25 years ago. With so many games being contested each night and the fact that some of these voters concern themselves with sports other than college basketball, you could see why such discrepancies exist. It's nice to be ranked and see your team in the paper, but all too often it jacks up said team's opponents, which is why schools in the 18-25 range often lose after fighting to get some recognition. It happens frequently with teams from big, medium, and small conferences alike.
"The NCAA is so upset about alleged recruiting violations at Kentucky that they decided to give Cleveland State the Death Penalty"--Jerry Tarkanian
3rd time N.Iowa has beaten Wichita State at Wichita; appears the shockers have lost the confidence they had built up earlier and have a tough matchup in carbondale mon. night; the season is a marathon but if they start 0-2 it may be hard to recover and win the conference .
