btw-
we're a day ahead of this big game and no word in the newspaper on the availability of three guys who have been starters?
However - WMBD has the news on this issue...
Grier will play but Bell & Jones will not
"The struggling Bradley Men's Basketball team is going to be shorthanded again as it tries to right the ship against the best team in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Bradley (7-16)(2-8 MVC) will be without two guards as it goes up against Wichita State Wednesday night.
Bradley Head Coach Geno Ford says Warren Jones and Ka'Darryl Bell will miss Wednesday's game against the Shockers due to disciplinary reasons.
...Grier ... will play Wednesday against Wichita State."

Look for career shooting numbers from the wichita players. I noticed that quick change is the half-time show. Even though i never have figured their act out, i would welcome something else at half-time. It is the same act every year.

<Should be a slightly bigger crowd than we've been seeing - but doubtful it even gets close to 7000>
Unfortunately, the snow and cold won't help. The inconvenience wouldn't matter if we were playing for first place, but since the Braves can't see first place any more than I can see the river four blocks away from my office through the falling snow, some will likely opt out.Yajusneverno!

omg- the bad news keeps coming - really tough break for Anthony Fields just when his opportunity arose-

wow - really a lot of feelings about this game - sweet & sour...
sweet because our guys played very well in many ways, frustrated the Shockers, caught them on a bad night, put a decent run on them late in the game to give us a chance to win...
but in the end, too many errors, bad passes, missed opportunities...
The first half bummed me a bit since we were playing a tight zone but they went right inside for layups in the paint over & over & over...
what a terrible zone! All those easy shots inside are NOT supposed to happen against a zone.
Then we go man to man the 2nd half and it's pretty clear that caught Gregg Marshall with his pants down...
He obviously had prepared for and fully expected a zone the whole game because of how shorthanded we are...and our man-to=man really flustered them.
They had 14 turnovers and rushed a lot of passes and shots.
So, like I say - it was sweet & sour - we coulda won it but fell just short in many ways.
Donte Thomas finished the game but he jammed his finger mid-way thru the 2nd half &
Josh Cunningham was limping & holding his leg - either a sprain or cramps but we got no more subs so they had to play thru!
the Quick Change thing is a stumper...
all their equipment & props were there under the bleachers, and the main roads are all fine - and why wouldn't they prepare and plan & be there to get their music set, etc....hours in advance...
So to announce 5 minutes before halftime that they were running late & wouldn't make it sounds a little strange
so count on a bunch of extolling of our defense but it was more a listlessness on the Shockers' part
and count on talk of this being a moral victory or a good loss...but it still sends us deep into 9-10th place ion the MVC in a year we were supposed to be competing for a Campionship.
