Lefty, maybe you have a thought on this...I find it just a little odd that the PJ Star would choose to post that letter today, when they knew the full Board of Trustees were in town to discuss and determine the future of Bradley athletics.
Is it just a pure coincidence? I have a hard time believing it is.

I guess anything is possible. I'm really not into conspiracy theories though.
It seems everything has been pretty much determined and I doubt this letter could/would have any influence on the decision makers....

Now....if I was into the conspiracy theories....I would think you would have more than one letter of support and do them leading up to the Thursday-Friday meetings...... a few weeks in advance maybe

Let me see if I read this chap's letter correct.
He says if we just give Geno Ford another six-eight years to rebuild the right way, he can undo 30 years of declining basketball performance that was brought on by Dick Versace and the people who followed him? And that with the good freshmen and sophomore, that's a start towards getting the program back to the level of national prominence that we have not seen since before Versace brought the program down?
I don't know Mr. Griffin but he has a right to root to keep Geno for decades if that's what he wants but I checked every listing of the Braves Club, Chiefs Club, the extensive Honor Roll of Donors, and Googled Mr. Griffin's name and cannot find a single entry anywhere that he has ever been listed as a Bradley supporter so go figure.
        We miss you Coach Buescher

I didn't see anything referring to another 6-8 years.......and I know some people who have had season tickets for quite awhile but I don't think you would find their name either anywhere

But like others here I would disagree with some of his opinion as well.

But we've had four years already - so what's he saying??
Cut with the vague open-ended claim that we need even more years of this same fan-interest-killing basketball, losing records, and empty arenas!
He clearly equates almost FOUR YEARS that Geno has as "overnight" and says we cannot expect a rebuild "overnite".
If Geno's only been here "overnight" and this guy wants to give a lot more time - then likely he is talking a decade or so - what??

            Then he claims...
"Apparently, some...did not understand how a program is constructed in the first place. The first few years were used to stop the drastic decline"
Whoa - -this remark is about as absurd as anything I have heard yet - even on certain other boards!
Just point to one micro piece of evidence that in four years Geno has done a THING to stop the decline -- the attendances are going down every single game.
The decline only started about 4-5 years ago and is getting worse at light speed.

Most season ticket holders if they have ever given a dollar or paid maintenance are listed in the Honor Roll he refers to but I feel everyone regardless of whether they support the team or the school is still entitled to an opinion.
But I do likewise with others here, find it very surprising that if he's a season ticket holder since 1978, that he feels the decline of Bradley basketball had anything to do with Versace, and that four years is apparenty not even close to enough years to give Geno for the rebuild

Even though Bradley fired a 32-3 coach for reasons we have never been told, their attendance remained strong until the last 3 or 4 years. Not to mention the fund raising, etc.
What part of illegal don't you understand?
