  • OK - we are now officially a laughingstock

when sports writers on ESPN are mocking Bradley and the mascot

the guy is pretty spot-on and rightfully places all the blame for the demise & embarrassment on the people now in charge
and not on some straw-man from years ago..and he definitely mocks the "revamped logos and terrifyingly-adorable gargoyles"
and says they "won’t get the job done."

The guy is a recent alumni (2014 I believe) and its a small blog post on espnwisconsin. I wouldn't consider him a major sports writer yet, but he does make some good points.

If they drop to Div 2, they might as well move their games to a grade school near campus as they won't draw 100 fans a game.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

Peoria is a great basketball community...
the great fans and the HUGE crowds are there for the taking - all they have to do is play good basketball & treat the fans right - but nobody currently in charge has a clue...

Heck - I was there just a few years back when we had more intense, standing, stomping, screaming, loud, all-red, loyal Bradley fans assembled for a hastily scheduled game in Michigan than we had downtown last night. Doesn't take a genius to know what brings 'em out of the woodwork...
Remember - that group of players also had very few "name-players" - most were obscure, under-the-radar, a couple walkons (Danny Adams)
and the Kansas, Pitt, & other teams' fans saw our Bradley gear and asked constantly "you gotta tell me how did you guys get all those great basketball players?"
