Wichita beat Loyola 58-47. The Shockers led 29-23 at the half and methodically pulled away. Fred Van Fleet had 27 points and Ron Baker had 16. They combined to score Wichita's last 30 out of 34 points.
UNI had a battle on their hands at SIU but ended up with the 59-52 win. The Salukis led 26-23 at the half and were still leading at the 15 minute mark 32-30 when UNI went on a 10 1/2 minute, 26-6 run to secure the win. Seth Tuttle and Paul Jesperson led the Panthers with 13 points.
ISU Red had a tough time against the Bears in Normal but they ended up with a 67-57 win. The game went back and forth for the 1st 15 minutes then the Redbirds went on a 10-2 run to help forge a 28-25 halftime lead. ISU the started the half on a 9-2 run and were never really threatened but never were able to put the Bears away. DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell came off the bench to lead the Redbirds with 20 points.
Drake never trailed as they took care of BU 69-57. Drake shot 75% from the field in the 1st half and ended up shooting 56% for the game. They had been shooting 44% for the season. We actually got it as close as 61-54 with the ball with 7:00 left but we proceeded to score 4 FT's for the remainder of the game. Our 4 centers had 3 points and 8 rebounds and in what can only be described as shocking both X and Shaw had NO FOULS. Then again Shaw hardly played and X didn't played about 15 minutes. The Shaw-O-Meter still stands at 67 fouls and 56 points while X is at 59 fouls and 64 points.

Loyola's Milton Doyle has missed their last 3 games, all losses, due to a severely sprained ankle. He is reported to be out for about 3 more weeks.
That sounds like there a slight chance he could return for their game at Bradley on Feb. 15, but more likely their Feb 18 game at home against UNI, or their game Feb. 21 at ISU.
