Evansville wins 89-78. Balentine went to the locker room and came back into the game with 10 1/2 left. You would have thought that ISU would have got back into the game but the Purple Aces upped the lead to 12 in Balentine's absence. Evansville extended the lead to 80-62 with 3 minutes left then had a 2 minute brain fart as ISU go it as close as 81-75 with about a minute left and had the ball but missed from 3 and Evansville made their FT's to close it out. In fact Evansville was 34-41 from the FT line, shot 53% from the field and had 6 made 3's while ISU made 10 3's, had the same amount of FG's, 25, as Evansville but were just 18-22 from the FT line. Balentine led the Purple Aces with 18 points and 6 assists while Blake Simmons had 14 and Eqidijus Mockevicius had his 15th double double of the year with 10 points and 15 rebounds. ISU was led by Benton Scott with 20 and Devonte Brown with 18. Evansville and ISU are now tied for 3rd in the Valley at 6-3. The Purple Aces have won their last 5 out of 6 and next play at Drake on Saturday while ISU has lost 3 of their last 4 and host BU on Saturday.

ISU -blue you mean ...
as Illinois State is 4-4 and still sits in 5th but is really 2 games back of the Sycamores having lost home-and-home already
Illinois State still has SIX of their remaining ten games left against the top 5 teams in the Valley besides themselves (Wichita, UNI, Evansville, Indiana State, & Loyola) - and as I said has to make up 3 wins on Indiana State to pass them in the standings - while InSU & Evansville each only have four remaining games against those other top 5 teams.
