Many people thought Bradley should have hired Brian Gregory back in 2002. He was an assistant at Michigan State at that time and became one of the 10 finalists selected by the search committee. He returned to Bradley for a second round of interviews. He might have been a good choice, but he voluntarily withdrew for personal reasons after the interview on campus.
A year later (2003) he became the head coach at Dayton. He spent 8 seasons at Dayton with some success, but only 1 NCAA season. Dayton fans were never happy with him, and many were glad when he left in 2011 to take the head coaching job at Georgia Tech.
For the last 4 seasons he has been the head coach at Georgia Tech, where he has had some tough times. In 3 1/2 seasons at Georgia Tech, he is 52-62 overall, but just 16-43 in the ACC. This season he has bottomed out and is currently 0-7 and in dead last place in the ACC. And he still has games coming against North Carolina twice, Duke, Miami, NC State, Louisville, and several other better teams.
One of the low points this season was Dec. 23, when Gregory's Georgia Tech team was clobbered by his former team Dayton, now a national power coached by Archie Miller.
So in his 4th season at Georgia Tech, their fans are not happy and are demanding he be fired.
His team hit a new low last week when they lost 57-28 against Virginia. Yes, just 28 points in a 40 minute game
He is criticized for running a "high school offense"-
So there is a good chance he will be looking for a new job at the end of this season.... is anyone at Bradley still interested?
