What a joke. Had a chance to watch the game tonight on TV. First time to see them live what a terribly coached team and I can't belieive the mistakes our guys make. We tried to give this game away. Not sure how we won
we played 35 minutes of good basketball....
Josh had a good game, Warren Jones a good game offensively but weak defensively
Nobody else stood out much except Donte Thomas hit some big 3's...
Then in the final 5 minutes we looked like our old selves & tried to give it away...
Dribble off our feet, step out of bounds, hurry it upcourt and travel, then foul a 3-point shooter...
In the end we were very lucky to have won this game on our home court against arguably the worst team in the MVC..
So it WAS a win and it was exciting to get the win and see the good play for the first 5/6 of the game..
then it was aggravating to watch all the good play melt away into barely beating a bad team without their only true scorer..
1 rebound out of our starting center Xzavier Taylor ( who probably got 25-30 minutes) against a bad team is dismal...
I also thought we played better for the first 30+ minutes, then the last 5-7 minutes were brutal. Bradley had a 13 point lead at one point, and still lead by double digits until they started making bad mistakes and allowed a really bad Missouri State team to come back. Fortunately, Missouri State couldn't score, couldn't make free throws, and turned the ball over too.
Bradley had 3 turnovers in the last 39 seconds, when all they needed to do was hold the ball. With a little over 30 seconds left, Bradley threw the ball out of bounds, with 8.9 seconds left, Bradley inbounded the ball and traveled when there was no reason to even try to advance the ball, and again with 2.5 seconds left Bradley rebounded a miss and stepped out of bounds giving MSU one last shot to win. Just really bad decision-making.
Geno seems to have lost confidence in Mike Shaw and Jermaine Morgan. They barely played despite foul trouble for Barnes and Taylor.
What's wrong with Grier- scoreless.
And Warren Jones bailed Bradley out since nobody else was scoring- 16 points. I hope none of the other teams figure out his little leg-kick that keeps drawing fouls and 3 free throws.
PEORIA, Ill. - Warren Jones scored a game-high 16 points, including a wing 3-pointer with 1:31 left for the deciding points, leading host Bradley to a 61-59 win against Missouri State Saturday night.
The title is also changed after every game we win and has been for the last 10 years....Same as when we lose. I usually get to it when I get home after the games. Editing the title takes a few more steps than I can easily do with the cellphone. Nothing more than that,. but nice try with the conspiracy theory.
Since I've been a pretty vocal critic, want to give kudos to ford and Braves for hanging on. I was actually impressed with a "hidden" alley pop to Thomas out of a to....good play geno. I thought Jones hit a huge 3. I don't think he will continue to get the calls on the feet kicked out on the shot after a couple more games. Also shoot not to get fouled but to make them.
MO state isn't very good. If they shoot 65% from free throw line we go to ot.

seems like Jones shoots that all the time though??¦
And I agree??¦it seemed we had some nice plays for some good shots even though we didn't convert on all of them??¦
We also seemed to play good defense for 30 seconds only for them to take a forced shot that either missed so bad they got the rebound or we couldn't hang on to it??¦.
Thank goodness we were playing a team who has forgotten how to win as we did everything humanly possible to try and lose. I think Chad said it pretty good on the post game that we almost snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Geno talked after the game about how Austin and KDB stepped up in the huddle during the last few time outs yet they were the ones who made the mistakes that about cost us the game. Then Geno uses the injury excuse to explain why we don't have any strength and that's why we got outrebounded. The reason we got outrebounded is there were too many times we were standing flat footed and Missouri State's players were hustling after the ball. Shaw was not supposed to play as he was sick and he looked like it in his 2 minutes in the game. The fouls/points a-meter now stands for Shaw at 67/56 while X now has 59 fouls and 62 points. Now that I got the bad stuff out of the way there was some good stuff. Donte had a good 1st half and his two 3 pointers actually had a little bit of arc on them. I'm not sure I've ever seen one guy get fouled 3 separate times when he's shooting a 3 pointer. At least Warren finally made all 3 FT's for the 1st time this year after getting fouled. And it was nice to see a bigger crowd than the last home game. Hopefully we can make it 2 in a row on Wednesday.
