The ones who didn't want Jim in the first place are the ones who were anti-Jim right off the bat. I was happy to see a Bradley great come back as a coach, and thought he did a commendable job.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

no but the people who hooked their allegiance to the wrong wagon are over there...
that wagon is leaving the building...
sadly, as you will soon see, a bunch of good people will also end up losing their jobs because of a few people's bad moves and incompetence...

        Wrong Wagon

I agree with you Tornado! Many people connected their wagon to the wrong leader. There appears to have been a trend in this and many supporters and voters gotten duped. The ones who created this mess all had involvement with higher education and though they knew better but lacked two thing Common Sense and Honesty. As we will see this played out on the BU campus it will also be played out in Washington DC!

This is info that all fans want to know and deserve to know, especially fans who have invested their time, effort, and money into the support of Bradley over the years.
Fans should realize that the moves that started with today's announcement were brought on mainly because those ultimately in charge want to restore the faith and support of the fans back to where it once was.

Make no mistake that today's events were driven primarily by one thing- the decline of the men's basketball program. And the move was pushed to happen by the reaction of fans and the opinions posted here and in letters written to the Board. So the thanks go to those who have stuck things out and pushed for change.

First thing to consider- The termination date of the President is May 31, 2015. That is a couple months later than any change with the coach or AD would usually be made. Some have wondered if that means President Glasser could be involved in hiring any replacements.
But I have heard that the departing President will not be involved in any further hirings or other major decisions at the University.

Second tidbit- there will definitely be more departures coming soon in the Athletic Department. I have heard of how the sequence of events will take place, and it is pretty much the way most expect it to be.

One more tidbit- changes like today's announcement are seen by every administrator and every coach in the country, and despite the polite and benign retirement press release, they all know exactly what is really happening. As a result, I have heard that there are coaches/assistants who have already made calls to people affiliated with the university to check out the possibility of an opening coming soon. If anyone would like to know more, PM me...
I would like to think BU's declining enrollment, termination of certain curricula etc. would have also got her "retired"...

BU's long term success is not just MBB... Need to build up more academic programs and get more students wanting to come to BU.

I still believe the Cat connection should/would help bring in more technical and computer students to BU, particularly overseas students from countries we do business in. BU/Cat could steer them back home post BU for work in Cat offices/plants/proving grounds, distribution centers around the world. Could BU develop an school of international business/marketing/ management? Cat foreign employees in the greater Peoria area would be excellent resources to help with the classes....

            Ding Dong

OK, can't help myself.... No one take this too seriously!

Ding Dong! The Glass is gone. Which old Glass? The Wicked Glass!
Ding Dong! The Wicked Glass is gone.
Wake up - sleepy head, rub your eyes, get out of bed.
Wake up, the Wicked Glass is gone. She's gone where the goblins go,
Below - below - below. Yo-ho, let's open up and sing and ring the bells out.
Ding Dong' the merry-oh, sing it high, sing it low.
            Let them know
            The Wicked Glass is gone!

('T'): As Mayor of BU City, In the County of the Land of BU, I welcome you most regally.
('DC'): But we've got to verify it legally, to see
            ('T'): To see?
            ('DC'): If she
            ('T')" If she?
            (DC): Is morally, ethic'lly
            (Chico) Spiritually, physically
            (Braves2006): Positively, absolutely
            (CubbieBear): Undeniably and reliably gone
(big jimmy): As a fan I must aver, I thoroughly examined her.
And she's not only merely gone, she's really most sincerely gone.
('T'): Then this is a day of Independence for all the BU fans and their descendants
            ('DC'): If any.
('T') Yes, sing this joyous positive song, the wicked Old Glass at last is gone!

Big PJS editorial on Dr. Glasser's retirement

they make only tiny, passing mention of athletics - as if it had little or nothing to do with this news story of Dr. Glasser's retirement.

Either they are pretending it didn't or they just don't know a thing...
but for anyone who might have just awakened from 7 years in a deep sleep...
this story is nearly 100% about athletics ....
Bradley University President Joanne Glasser has decided to make this year her last atop the Hilltop. She will leave at semester’s end, having been a consequential leader. Glasser was the 10th presi…

As most here know and have known for a couple years - the PJ Star has completely missed this story from beginning to end - all those firings, all those Board changes, resignations, all those reports that were readily available on the severe financial bungling, etc...
..all the other info that has been repeated been made available here then cut and pasted to other sites...
the PJS appears to have missed it all or - even worse - knew about it and chose not to report on it for reasons of bias or due to conflict of interests.....maybe since the paper makes advertising money from Bradley?

I guess all the next president needs to do is dress like a student and cheer with them in the student section to endear themselves to the people at the PJ Star.

Somehow I might have expected a bit more about the reasons, but then again, it is the PJ Star. Just do a little more work, and find out why she is leaving....it is not that much of a secret. And it wasn't entirely her choice, either.

It would be interesting to here what JL had to say about this announcement. I know he would never do it publically.

We have already heard from some other former employees, and their response is just as you would expect.
