Didn't get a chance to listen...Did anyone listen to the Postgame show today? Did Geno speak? Didn't know if he did or not because of the flu... Was curious to what he did say...

I may be wrong but I thought he took a little jab at the fans. It was an announcer that mentioned Ford looked a little better. Ford said something like the fans would probably not agree with that.

Someone correct me if I am wrong. It was in the early part of the interview.

It was something to the effect of: Snell, "Glad you're doing at least a little better." Geno (slightly chuckling), "Not sure our fans would agree with you."

Ford may not be a basketball coach that is qualified to coach at the Missouri Valley level, but he is no dummy. You can tell by his demeanor, the pressure from constantly losing is getting to him as it would any coach. He does have a pretty good sense of humor and I believe all he was doing at that point of the post game show, was trying to loosen things up a little bit. Different people have different ways of dealing with pressure. His seems to be with humor, at least publicly. I certainly didn't take this as a shot at the fans. The uneducated comment regarding games against D-III opponents was a shot at the fans.

            excuses given

Yes I listened to both mullers and ford's. .? Geno was full of excuses. .injuries caused a couple players to get no early season practice, isu had players that don't normally make shots make shots and here's the best one, the crowd at redbird isn't normally like this. When you have a coach who worries about or blames a loud crowd (BTW no where near capacity or remotely comparable to 10 years ago) you have a coach that isn't capable at this level.

              crowd comment

Just thought of one more thing. Did hear that largest crowd in 5 years at redbird. It would be nice if at carver bradley would try to market it the same way. I bet isu may be louder than brave fans in Peoria. I stand by my earlier comments.

The last few seasons maybe. Let a student know they will be on TV and they will show up in droves. Of course they they couldn't lose the other night, so half of Normal showed up. Used to be, outside of the Bradley game, their crowds would make Bradley crowds nowadays look like a full house.
What part of illegal don't you understand?
