CBSSports is reporting the the NCAA is looking into academic irregularities at SMU with some of their recruits. 2 high level recruits were just dismissed and an assistant coach was placed on administrative leave. Could the hammer come down on Larry Brown and Tim Jankovich?

this is interesting...
this is NOT a new story....it is a long story of repeated incidences of cheating, scandal, and grade changing & using ineligible players in the Dallas, TX school system
Remember - way back several years ago there were reports of kids in the Dallas, Texas school system getting their grades altered -
It was first reported with Darrell Arthur when he landed at Kansas...
But it got repeatedly swept under the rug despite investigations being reopened from time to time.
Then another grade changing scandal in 2013-14 hit that took State Titles away from some schools -
all this forced some kids to transfer...
This kid, Keith Frazier - was one of them....raising questions about Frazier way back two years ago!!
Then a year ago this same very player was in the news with his grades being changed at his new school as well !!!-

BUT the amazing part is that the college people lusted so much for the kid's talent that they did everything they could to deny or hide the scandal...
even becoming part of the scandal process - which explains why the assistant is being canned...or thrown under the bus as scapegoat.
This assistant who is being canned, Ulric Maligi - has been embroiled in recruiting controversies before...
but honestly - the rest of the coaching staff, Larry Brown, Tim Jankovich, and even Jerrance Howard when he was there, had to know about these sleazy connections...

and in the "we kinda knew this all the time"-category
a major insider AAU boss publicly admits TENS of thousands of $$ changed hands to steer recruits...
this one in question, Ben McLemore, landed at Kansas...
as I said - we kinda knew all this 3-4 tears ago but it all got swept under the rug - and Kansas got off without a hitch...
