I think recruiting for Geno will become very difficult. Other coaches and schools are not stupid. They know what is going on here at Bradley and will use that against them
Yes, that could be debated, but the only recruits whose names have been surfacing for the past half-year are lesser-known junior college point guards. Our competition for these recruits seems to be mostly low-major schools.
A lot of fans have told me they prefer to see Bradley go after high school kids who can develop into quality 4-year players, and clearly we need scorers.
Another backup point guard stands little chance of making this team any better next season, IMO.
the thing we have to offer recruits currently is that if a kid wants to play and if he wants to score - there's 5 openings at Bradley -- he can have his pick...
Anyone know where we stand on Tutu? I believe he is playing at La Lumiere.
I find it odd that at one time Tutu was labelled the #1 point guard prospect in 2015 - and yet there's an unbelievably minimal amount being written on him....
something just doesn't add up given how much hype and hyperbole usually goes with most prep school point guards...
From what I can tell - something about him appears to have caused just about everyone who was previously recruiting him to drop off...
In fact I am not even sure whatever previous interest he was getting from Bradley is still intact.
There are mentions of Loyola Marymount following him and showing up at some of his games, but Bradley isn't mentioned anywhere lately.
One current article from Thursday listed his top offer as "Loyola Marymount"...FWIW....
Some of the Canadian kids (Braeden Anderson, Ray Kasongo, and Thijin Moses who bounced around to numerous colleges then finally played college ball in Canada), unless they go to juco, have eligibility issues like this...
Braeden Anderson shed tears during an emotional meeting with Kansas University basketball coach Bill Self late Friday afternoon. “It’s a sad day for me. I’ve done everything I’m supposed to do to make my dreams happen here at Kansas. It’s all coming crashing down right now,” Anderson, a 6-foot-8 power forward from Okotoks, Alberta, Canada, […]
Until Ford is gone it will be nearly impossible to get a decent recruit here. The only hope would be if Coleman is able to get a player from the CPL that may be a late qualifier. Anybody player that has any ability at all, is not going to want to come to BU. Kids want to be on a winner or eventual winner.
The best we can hope for (jokingly) is the university take the BU credit cards out of the coaches wallets and confiscate all cell phones so no more damage can be done.
Rebuilding the program is going to take a mix of freshmen that develop into solid players and a couple of junior college kids, for a maturity standpoint.
