Yet another letter to the PJStar editor

Another letter to the editor...
from a "long time season ticketholder" who offers his thoughts...
"BU circumstances dictate that Ford should remain as basketball coach"
..but IMO - this writer's logic is flawed...
He says...
"Given that it is already late in the usual timetable for coach selection.."
...this is not true -- most coach firings take place after the entire season is over - at least the conference tournaments - for example - this is roughly the exact time that JL was fired, and many coach firings that are GOING to happen this season will happen in the next few days ..
Most new coach hirings that happen in the spring do NOT happen until late March or April - so we are well within the ordinary timetable and NOT late.
Then he says he wants Bradley "to extend Coach Ford's contract for one more season.."
...he still has a year left on his original contract PLUS he's already been extended at least another couple years...

Why on earth would you want to give more years to someone who has destroyed the basketball program in such short order? Another 2 years and we may not have a basketball program left!Larry Bird
I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

Yes, the most recent letter you are talking about is mine.
I held season tickets throughout the Molinary era, a few years of the Les era and all of the Ford era (selected games in between).
I was very careful about what I said, and the headline did NOT reflect what I said.
My point: I'd be supportive of BU giving Ford one more year if it turns out that they didn't have the time to both hire a new AD and to let the AD to a satisfactory search.
Now: if "the powers that be" already have a timely plan lined up, well, that is fine too.
This was in no way, an endorsement of the on the court results.

Geno Ford may be a nice guy but he still cant coach. It took him 80% of the year gone by before he decides to play Wells. I don't think he controls his team. The players do what they want. They shoot out of position with no discipline. They do not listen to him as witnessed by several ticket holders. I have heard players arrive late for practice. It is time for him to go. Adding another year will be adding another lame duck year which will make it difficult to recruit. Bite the bullet now and lets get started on our recovery

Geno coaches one more game and BU will have one less season ticket holder next year.Larry Bird

Wow - what a difference a little over a year makes...
there's a letter to the editor in the Sports Section - don't think there's an online link
but it is from a guy who wrote "a most scathing criticism" in late 2014..
"in which I all but called for Joanne Glasser's head.."
but ..
"Today, I'm here on a happier note"
then it goes on from there - nearly 1/4 page of praise and gushing about mostly the great publicity the Always a Brave squad
has brought but praise about Bradley in general and the direction they're going..
He ends with...
"Bradley is on the collective tongues of the basketball world again and I think I speak for Braves fans everywhere, I couldn't be happier."
Andrew F.
Aurora
(his full name is in the print edition but I withheld it here as I believe he is a visitor to this site and even references reading about The Basketball Tournament on web sites..)
