Air Force is 5-0 at home - this is not an easy game...

just saw something hadn't seen before - the ref steps into the lane and warns the Air Force player who is lined up on the FT lane about waving his arms up & down - saying he'll call a "T" if the kid does it again to distract the shooter.

      Under a minute 75-64

        UC-Davis wins 81-75 but it wasn't easy...
actually Air Force went on a real scoring spree the final few minutes - they'd have beaten a lot of teams with that run..

Air Force had 57 points with 1:53 left and put 18 points on the scoreboard in under 2 minutes!!!!
In fact, they scored 11 pts in the final 43 seconds!
But UC-Davis kept scoring as well and fended off the Falcons' surge in scoring.

Corey Hawkins had 22 pts, 6 rebs
Tyler Les 9 pts, 3 asst off the bench

Air Force's Kamryn Williams finished with 17 pts/14 rebounds/6 asst in one of his better games

UCD goes to 8-1, Corey Hawkins now averaging over 20 ppg and hitting 54.3% from beyond the arc
Corey Hawkins, Evansville's DJ Balentine, Valpo's Alec Peters, and WIU's Garret Covington are all at 18ppg or higher as are Marcus Marshall, Anthony Beane & Ron Baker

MVC well on the way to going 0-5 today

ISU loses to Murray State, giving up 52 2nd half points and 20 pts in just the final 7 minutes

Drake loses and UNI down 29-23 at half.

If MVC goes 0-5 they will fall to 61-44 and 52-46 vs. DI and I have to believe conference RPI might drop down to Horizon level

UNI holds Iowa to just 15 points in the 2nd half and beats them 56-44 to save face for the Valley. It's real clear the top 3, UNI, Wichita and Evansville, are heads and shoulders above the other 7. I'd feel a lot more confidant about us finishing in the top 6 if our post players could somehow magically develop some post moves.

                nice quality win by UNI

Valparaiso's Alec Peters, 23 pts, 5 rebs 3 asst last night despite foul trouble..
And get this - because of some foul probs he was scoreless at half -
he scored all 23 of his points in the 2nd half including a late flurry that won the game....
& knock off IPFW who were previously unbeaten at home

ISU's Deontae Hawkins was said to have a "stress reaction" but not a stress fracture - no word on how long he will be out.
Devaughn Akoon-Purcell is also out for 5-6 weeks with a fracture in his hand

Evansville just got taken to OT to beat Ohio but tonight Ohio is getting absolutely clobbered by Geo. Washington 77-49
Makes ya wonder how strong Evansville really is against their weak SOS
