no they don't - and they might be down again next year -
But I am sure the fans at UC-Davis are extremely happy about where they are and OPTIMISTIC (not pessimistic) about next year as well

... but check this out...UC-Davis has kinda come into the big time and will likely never be small-time again.

Here's an attendance comparison - you tell me what you'd rather have, and which schools have made the right moves, and which have made the wrong moves.

    UC-Davis
Historical home attendance average in prior decade- 600-1000
so far in 2014-15 - 2091 (they had over 3000 last night and have over 4000 advanced sales for Saturday)
...up 100-200% above their historical average

    Bradley
Historical average in prior decade- 9,000-10,000
so far in 2014-15 - 5437 (they had worst crowd in over 50 years Wednesday with just over 5000 and half were empties)
..we are DOWN 50% from our historical average

And I will throw in one other school also
    FGCU
Historical average in past decade- 1200
    so far in 2014-15 - 4,296
    - up almost 300% from their historical average

Then try this one on for size...
SIUE Women's Basketball - their current home attendance average is 1,232...
not real impressive unless you look back where they were just 3, 4, 5, and 6 years ago..
    Those season attendance averages were 949, 655, 473, 526, 458
...so again - they are up 100% over their historical average!!!

..are we beginning to see a pattern here - every one of those programs at SIUE, FGCU, UCD all have the very people we ran off and we went out and got new people who are destroying our programs!
    Case closed.

How many different ways, and in how many different threads, do you feel the need to continue to state BU Admin made a mistake in hiring JG and then GF?

Is there anyone left on BF.com who doesn't know your position? If people don't agree with you by now, no amount of posts or analysis will make a difference.

We all agree, BU needs to find another AD and MBB head coach to take them to where GF couldn't, top of the MVC.

I encounter people every single day who do NOT think as you claim everyone believes.

We still have the same coach, the same AD, the same Prez - at least for now...
No plans have been announced, and there's constant excuses and spin being given like...
-it's hard and everyone's doing the best that they can
        -attendances are down everywhere
-it takes quite a while to rebuild
-the problem was way deeper than anyone knew and it'll take several more years
-we need to go through several more recruiting cycles
-if we make a change now we might lose our best player
-it's hard to make a fair assessment because we've been devastated by injuries

the criticisms and attacks and even the fan on fan hate was way worse in 2011 and we survived that and one group of fans got everything they wanted back then.
Just maybe it's time for the other group to have a turn...

but then you just highlighted the latest one that's getting popular..
"if you keep pointing all that out, then you are the worst part of the problem and you should go.."

was just a matter of time - people have been blaming me for a few years now....still don't know how I have such power to destroy basketball programs and make people miserable. Especially when every move that's been made for five years is NOT what I would have done yet I get blamed?

Obviously, UC Davis will not easily replace Corey Hawkins after this season. He is currently the top 3-point shooter in the country (52.7%). However, he is just 1 of 7 of their regular players who are shooting 40% or better on three point shots this year.

The last player Bradley had that ever averaged 40% in any season was Andrew Warren, who graduated in 2011.

UC Davis is on national TV again tonight- their home game against Cal-Poly is on ESPNU (and ESPN3.com) starting at 9:00 PM.

And I thought this tweet was timely to this discussion about how UC Davis might replace Corey Hawkins, the top 3-point shooter in the country.

ESPN basketball announcer and analyst Trent Schlom tweeted
UC Davis commit Rogers Printup (Orange Lutheran HS) hit 8 3FGs in a HS game tonight. Looks like Les has himself another big time shooter.

Rogers Printup is a 6'4" big shooting guard who is a 2015 UC Davis commit and who is one of the best pure shooters on the West Coast.

Here is one more story about Rogers Printup, who is deaf-
ORANGE – Erika Printup tends to sit quietly in the stands when she watches her son, Rogers, play basketball for Orange Lutheran. The silence stems mostly out of nervousness. It’s probab…

                omg what a great game
well over 5,000, sellout - no empty seats anywhere and the Aggies are an exciting team!

there's not a more pumped home crowd anywhere west of Cameron Indoor Stadium than the Ags' home Pavilion

It's worth staying up late to watch the UCD team. Cal Poly played their best game of the year and hung tough. They are one of the worst shooting teams in the country, but shot 48.4% tonight. The game went to overtime tied 65-65. But UCD pulled it out in the end 81-78-
Box score for the UC Davis Aggies vs. Cal Poly Mustangs NCAAM game from January 31, 2015 on ESPN. Includes all points, rebounds and steals stats.

Incredible how well every one of the UCD players shoot the ball. They shoot over 50% (29-57, 50.9%) for the game, and maintain their big lead as the nation's best 3-point shooting team with 11-19 (57.9%). Corey Hawkins had 22

                        • UC Davis widens their lead over the rest of Division I in 3-point shooting. They are shooting 45.3% on threes through 20 games (16-4). No other team is close to them-

UC Davis RPI improved to 97.

                          • Their RPI by season's end could place them in the range of the top 3 MVC teams.....

and I see the MVC Conference RPI has slipped a bit and is now about to fall below the MAC's RPI - and maybe even the MWC's RPI

Last thought - now we have an entire generation of kids both LOCALLY here in Central IL and STATEWIDE...
who have literally GROWN UP (since 2009 or 2010) and spent their entire middle school & varsity or high school lives watching Bradley occupy the bottom of the MVC...
..their entire basketball-conscious lives during which they might have been recruited - with nobody on BU's staff being a local guy and with Bradley apparently NOT doing much to target the local kids!
This presents an extremely difficult problem in recruiting - because if the kids even THINK about Bradley they instantly envision a legacy of losing - not competing or winning...

Which, of course, is likely the reason we have zero local kids either on the roster nor even on the radar screen - and that we had to overspend to get a guy on staff with any connections anywhere in the state.

Looking forward for 2015-16, 2016-17, etc.....there are a bunch of solid local kids (Da'Monte, Lou Griffith, Nate Kennel, Youngman, Christian Williams...)
..let's hope we do better with that group than we did with Alec Peters, Peyton Allen, Austin, Obediah Church, Christian Romine, Emondre Rickman...

Tornado you are so right. It is very hard to recruit to a team that always looses. Who wants to play there? It is going to take a very long time to correct this sinking ship. I really believe we need to recruit the local talent hard and this will help get us on the right path. What do you think guys?

even tho I know our Board will NOT want these guys - they seem to always want to look east and pull a rabbit out of a hat.... worrisome...
