would love to see that day when Les, Hawk, and even Massive Mike might be able to come for a ceremony to honor them for the greatest seasons and some of the most exciting games any living Bradley fan has ever seen....not to mention some pretty solid dominance of ISU and Bob Donewald..
In Hersey's final three seasons we went 7-1 against ISU with some of those games being among the most memorable games I have ever been to....
and not just for the basketball - even the ISU chants and the interplay between DV & Donewald...

What if they fired Jim Les and the next coach improved the program?

I would take any coach who can win more than he loses, not be afraid to play good opponents, and bring back the excitement and enjoyment of Bradley basketball that is now long gone.

There is probably more interest in the California-Davis basketball program in Peoria,IL, than in Davis, California.

they are anticipating a sellout for their game vs. Long Beach State this Saturday...
Page Not Found (404): It looks like you're lost... The page you are looking for no longer exists.

Their game Saturday is a WHITE OUT and they did this each of the past two seasons and drew sellout crowds well over 5,000 each time... (over 5600 in 2013)

They should be even more successful doing it this year as they are winning - and if they do - their attendance this Saturday will almost certainly exceed what we draw against Evansville.
Who would have thought back in 2011 that a basketball team that averaged 600-700 at home games would, within a couple years - be able to outdraw Bradley when we had been drawing close to 10,000 a game just a few years ago?
Talk about two programs going in vastly different directions...

                Idea whose time has come

Isn't it about time to start a separate UCD Forum on BF.com? Or better yet, a Former BU Coaches Forum on BF.com. You could channel all threads/posts on JL and the UCD program and Mo and his Western ILL program into one site! Would make it easier for T and DC and their followers to post/find/read replies to his updates on the UCD program and JL.

                Just sayin!

he was the regular from TOB that logged on here to try to troll & cause trouble but wasn't bright enough to mask his identity and got caught instantly

Think Bradley tried that. Hasn't worked to well as I see it. What do you think?

that idea was doomed to failure right from the beginning because of who was picking the next coach
...and it was predicted by plenty who saw it unfold in BU baseball already...now it's happening in every other sport

btw - this writer is giving a revised pick of the Big West in which he appears to be now picking UC-Davis to win the Big West...

I would have to agree with AZ BU Fan. Most of the people I know, whether they liked the decision to fire Les or not, have moved on from it, now four years later. It's like talking politics in a bar, nothing get accomplished. I enjoy reading and participating on this board. History is history and nothing anybody can do will change the past or the opinions people have of the past. The old saying "it doesn't do any good to beat a dead horse" holds true. As for me an my energy, I prefer to use my energy towards things I may be able to change for the better.

but don't you admit we see a remarkable difference in the coverage by media...

the negative press and calls to run JL out started before he was hired, built steadily - even accompanied by the sports editor's surprising admission that he soured on JL in year 2 and started the drumbeat to run him out...
then all it took was for Jim Les to finish 4th, then have one losing year - and even Phil Luciano was piling on and writing columns about running JL out.

Yet now we have had the worst 4-5 year stretch ever in the more than 110 year history of Bradley basketball - and yet the press is still looking for bright spots and telling us to be patient for several more years!

The guy who wrote the letter on the editorial page has a million times more insight than those who cover BU basketball.

Yet another 20-point blowout loss for BU last night - how many is that now in the Geno era??
I count almost 20 and plenty of others that were just shy of 20-pt blowouts...
Geno may have the Bradley career record for 20-pt blowout losses in just over 3 years - in fact he may have as many as all other BU coaches since WWII combined...

Nobody is beating a dead horse here. I'm just following the career of a former Bradley player and coach, who happens to coach his son and the son of one of Bradley's all time greats. Be glad to post the same for any other past BU player and coach.

Speaking of UCD- last night in their win, they were 12-25 from three point range (48%), to raise their season three point percentage to 43.6% through 14 games (their record- 11-3).
They remain the top 3-point shooting team in the country-

They have several great 3-point shooters, but their top two 3-point shooters are a couple players who would have been playing for Bradley if circumstances were a little different.
Corey Hawkins is shooting an amazing 48.6% from three, and Tyler Les is shooting 46.8% from three- far better than anyone we have had here at Bradley for a while.

In overall shooting percentage, UC Davis is at 50.4%, which ranks 6th in the country. Compare that to Bradley's 38.3% FG%, which ranks 329th in the country!
