Iona beats Indiana State 94-81 - Iona with a 49-point 2nd half
and Murray State beats Evansville 81-79 - Balentine 31 and Mockevicius 12 & 14, but eveans ville acts like just a 2-man team sometimes
...looks like defense went out the window in the Valley today..
Wichita got by Detroit 77-68 but Detroit led until the final 5 minutes or so
St. Mary's just beat Creighton in a pretty entertaining OT game 71-67, breaking a 23 game home winning streak for Creighton
The hero was a little guy - 5-10 Aaron Bright who ISU fans will remember, and I do too.....
It was an eternity ago, March 2012, under Tim Jankovich - ISU went to play at Stanford in the post-season NIT.
At that time their tiny sophomore substitute point guard was Aaron Bright - before he transferred to St. Mary's -
and he put on an immaculate shooting display --
he went 11-13 and 6-7 from deep - for 29 points and 6 assists to end the Redbirds' season. - LINK

Drake's score looks familiar...
losing 49-35 with about 10 minutes to go...
MVC going to start the day going 1-3 -
half the Valley already has SWAC-caliber non-conference RPI's and the other half, except for UNI & Wichita all have bad losses to high RPI teams (ISU to Utah St., Loyola to Tulane, now Evansville)
But at least it looks like two MVC teams are in line to get NCAA bids if they can stay tough.

Murray State 72
Utah State 102
Tulane 153
Maybe in time these will be bad losses with high RPI's. But right now, IMO, they don't look bad at all.
