A lot better effort tonight especially on the defensive end. Austin Barnes woke up on the offensive end with 21 points. 9 points and 8 rebounds from the center position is not enough. KDB overmatched once again at the point as he had 7 turnovers and had a hard time getting the offense going. Anthony Fields had his most minutes in a game and I thought ran the offense a lot like the guy we had heard about. Hopefully Josh's knee isn't hurt too much as he banged it against someone else in the 2nd half. The positive I'll take out of this game is that we competed for the entire game. When K State got up by 11 in the 2nd half we could have cracked like we did against Memphis but we didn't and actually tied the game up and had a chance at the end of the game. And now we move on to the Tramique era. Time to see what we've got. Is he the next coming or just the next hyped player to disappoint.

he'd have a hard time not getting and keeping the starting PG spot - given we repeatedly are getting 6 or 7 turnovers a game out of our PG's...

but give our guys credit we did play hard, cause turnovers, rebound hard..

And I know choosing the starters is the coach's preogative...but....
the entire starting five goes 5-27 and our best player gets benched to start the game and then he comes in a shoots the lights out (6-9 and 4-6 from beyond the arc)...
kinda makes ya wonder just what might have been had Barnes been in there earlier and not waited 'til the final minute of the first half to hit his first 3-pointer.

Agreed. This kind of effort will win a lot of MVC games, in spite of the obvious offensive problems.

TB , I have to agree with you this was the best effort I've seen this year on the defensive end of the floor. The other end just amazes me how we are so poor. So glad TS is coming back next week can't hardly watch KDB throw another ball away. HE and Grier should have to buy tickets to get in the Arena and yes Mr. Cross ,I don't care if they buy $8 tickets. You may but I don't. Ft's did not lose this game for us but an air ball is unacceptable. You gotta be kidding me. If one of our 5's don't step up it's gonna be a long season in the Valley. Grier needs to see much more of the bench than he's seeing now and maybe be will once TS plays next week. Don't understand how a kid that is suppose to be a shooter can miss so many unguarded wide open 3's .If he makes 2 of his 6 we win the game. Still hard to watch but much better than that fiasco Sat. night.

that's the issue with Barnes though??¦.wasn't AB like 1-7 in Memphis???¦.sometimes he goes AWOL on the floor. Maybe it was a message by Geno that worked

almost everyone who has had a good game has immediately followed with a bad game...
both Grier & Jones have had 33-pt games then kinda disappeared after that..
Hope Barnes doesn't follow suit but then, I still think we can beat Eureka

Great effort on defense. If we could just get some scoring out of the inside guys, we might pull an upset, but just not enough offense, and we just can't make unforced turnovers like we did a few times.
I am surprised K-State didn't press at all. Maybe they didn't watch the Memphis game?

There was confusion at the end. Does anyone know why the TV guys said that last Free Throw wasn't counted, and that made the score 50-47 (the K-State live stats shows 50-47 as final score), but the ESPN stats show 51-47?

They said on the radio that K-State illegally substituted, someone came in who wasn't supposed to, and they took away the point.

Thanks. That is the first time I have heard an explanation. Some news reports still have the final score listed as 51-47, but it was obvious the ref waved off that final K-State free throw. I assumed that maybe it was a lane violation, but the ESPN3 guys never addressed it.

What exactly constituted an illegal substitution?
