Dave Reynolds has a new article in today's PJ Star listing all the great things Bradley accomplished at the Corpus Christi Classic, and about Bradley racking up 2 more "moral victories"-
Defense, rebounding better in Texas trip; return of point guard Tramique Sutherland anticipated
(note that the title in the print version is "Pieces falling into place; tough stretch looms")
Just a few clips from the article-
After a season that began with such despair, the two close losses Bradley suffered to TCU and Saint Louis at the Corpus Christi Coastal Classic had moral victories written all over them.
“We’re a world better than we were two weeks ago,” Ford said.
If we just continue on this path, though, we’ll be fine.”
this tournament provided an opportunity for success
They pounded both TCU and Saint Louis on the boards
played stretches of great defense with top-notch effort.
As the calendar turns to December, though, all is not lost.
the yeoman’s effort Ka’Darryl Bell has brought at the position
With Sutherland returning, Bell can go back to his combination guard role and be more effective.
“Josh took a big step forward. He’ll end up being a great player.
“Our rebounding in this tournament was great and our physicality was improved,”
And if the Braves are fortunate, it will all come together just in time for the Missouri Valley Conference season in January.
After reading the innumerable superlatives about Bradley this past weekend, I thought maybe we must have won the 2 games in Texas, or that maybe we were 6-0 instead of 2-4. For crying out loud, this is year 4, and we are still talking about moral victories and maybe getting a tiny bit better, though that is arguable after losing the last 2 games we should have won.
And, it's funny, but I can't find any PJ Star articles from 2002-2011 that ever used the term "moral victory" to describe a loss. Not once in 9 seasons. However, we've seen it multiple times in these past three years...
Btw, I predicted the "moral victory" banner would be dragged out-
