their home crowd last night in advance of a holiday weekend was also pretty impressive - one of their best non-conference crowds in years and remarkable for a non-conference midmajor opponent..
but they need to keep winning and clicking - they are not a deep team and a couple of their better players and quality incoming kids are going to redshirt for next year..so they can't afford injuries.
Even their opponents gave UCD kudos for winning and drawing a nice crowd..
and one articular comment on the Utah State message board is interesting...
the Utah State head coach is Stew Morrill - widely considered one of the better coaches in midmajor basketball - averaging well over 20 wins --
here's what their fans said... "Embarrassing loss. And it's 100% on stew. Out coached by a mile."
I wasn't going to post this because news about a certain Bradley Hall of Famer seems to annoy some people. But, now that it's up...please do not read further if you do not wish to read news about JL or UCD.
The Big West has a video streaming site, similar to the Horizon League, that has clear, high resolution video- and it is 100% free.
Last night's game was great to watch. JL recruit Corey Hawkins, UCD's leading scorer the past 3 seasons, had a rare bad game, but the other players, including Tyler Les, and another JL recruit Josh Fox stepped up big. UCD is the only undefeated team left in the Big West.
