wow - a 33 pt blowout loss at Ren-Col... BU women fall to 1-12 and it doesn't get any easier - since the last eight games were at home but now BU plays 5 of the next 7 on the road.

Oh man it was U-G-L-Y! Only bright spot, Tinjum had 20. Other than that, it was bad.

Despite 68 shot attempts, nobody other than Tinjum had more than 4 points.

As someone that has been to almost all of the Lady Braves games for the past 3 years I can say this team isn't the most fun to always watch but I think they might be headed in the right direction w/ only 1 senior starting and, possibly the best players all being freshman and sophomores. This team is definitely over matched but they never quit trying and are hustling right to the end.
I might be wrong but I really believe this team will be competitive in a couple of years as Coach Brooks seems to be building the program in the right way from the bottom up.

I hope you are right. From what I see, they still lack ball handlers, a good point guard, and shooters.

Yes, they have only 1 senior on the team, but she is their best player, in my opinion. Michelle Young's playing time has been cut back because of injury and because Brooks appears to prefer to start and play his own recruits to the detriment of the team (Young and Fantasia Vine are Paula's recruits). Fantasia Vine is a 4th year junior. She and Young are 2 of the top 5 players. Lerma is a sophomore, and Tinjum is a 3rd year sophomore because of her transfer. So there is a fair bit ofexperience on this team.
However, there is simply no conceivable excuse for losing to Drake at home by 33 points. Drake is RPI 130, not exactly a Top 25 team.
Plus Drake started 2 freshmen. 2 sophomores, and 1 senior. Their top scorer, who scored 23 against Bradley, is just a sophomore. And the girl who dominated the boards with 12 rebounds and 13 points in just 22 minutes, is a freshman. Plus their other starter who went for 13 points is also a freshman. So much for the "we are young excuse".
This team has also lost at home to Northern Illinois and Chicago State, both have RPI's well into the 300+ range.

I wasn't there for the Drake game but I have women season tickets and made all but 2 of their home games.

Remember that this current team was badly hurt when Butts was dismissed...was it last year? So, they are in rebuilding mode, and the current freshmen are learning what to do.

What blows me away is that they beat the best team that they played (Missouri) but have pretty much stunk against everyone else; the most embarrassing loss was to Chicago State.

The BU women (1-12) are back in action tonight at Indiana State.
So far, things are not going well for the Braves. They have never lead, and their shooting woes continue.
Bradley trailed Indiana State 32-19 at halftime-

These same glaring deficiencies that I have been saying for these last 3 seasons revealed themselves again tonight as the Lady Braves lose to Indiana State 64-50.
                        Bradley had only 6 assists
                        Bradley had 28 turnovers
Bradley shot just 32.5% from the floor (13-40)....their season shooting percentage drops to 34.7%, which is about 320th in Division I
No Bradley played scored more than 2 baskets

                        Bradley drops to 1-13.

Sure the women's record is bad, but look at all of the new faces. Only 3 returning players from last year. There is a lot of talent and we all want the wins to start coming and they should. My 10 year old daughter and myself have gotten to know all of these young ladies and the coaching staff and they are all wonderful people and deserve the opportunity to become competitive.

The BU women (1-13, 0-3) are playing tonight in Evansville (7-7, 2-1).
                            At halftime, UE leads 45-24-

                              Final score- another unbelievable blowout-
                              Bradley 46
                              Evansville 86

Evansville women's team is not exactly a juggernaut. They were 6-7 against D1, and had an RPI of 190.
Bradley's problems with shooting and ball handling continue. They shot just 36.8% overall, and were just 1-19 (5.3%) from three. They had 22 turnovers (to Evansville's 8 ), and they had only 9 team assists (to Evansville's 23).

Bradley is now 1-14, and 0-4.

                                horrific

I missed the last home game due to being at the Colts vs. Bengals playoff game.

I winced when I saw the score of tonight's game; given that Wichita State is 12-3, this Friday might get ugly.

Then again, I said the same thing prior to the Missouri game...it still blows my mind that they won that one.
