The Bradley women played their first home game today against SEMO.
BU came into the game 0-5 and SEMO came in 1-4, and 0-3 on the road.
But Bradley could not break into the winning column-
Final: SEMO 70 Bradley 65
Bradley is now 0-6. They are off until next Saturday, when they host Missouri. Recall that last season Missouri set multiple records in their drubbing of Bradley 126-55.

If they did not beat SEMO then I really don't see a lot more winnable games coming up..
the women's MVC looks to be pretty weak with only FOUR MVC teams having won more than a single Division I game at this point, and only 3 have winning records...
maybe Chicago State or ISU???
of Bradley's team sports thus far in 2014-15 our records are troubling - certainly not what Doug Stewart seemed to be talking about...
Soccer 9-11 & 1-5 in MVC
Volleyball 2-26 & 2-16 in MVC
Men's Basketball 2-4
Women's Basketball 0-6 (win over Eureka was an exhibition)

The Bradley women's team is playing a rare weekday morning game billed as Field Trip Thursday. 1200 tickets were given out to grade school kids to attend.
The Bradley women's basketball team will welcome approximately 1,200 grade school students to Renaissance Coliseum for Field Trip Day presented by Prairie Farms Thursday when the Braves take on Chicago State in an 11 a.m. game.
Bradley (1-7) is playing Chicago State, who is 1-8 on the season, but 0-8 against Division I opponents (their only win was at home against St. Joseph's College of Indiana). This is only Chicago State's 3rd road game of the season. They are 0-2 on the road, and 1-6 at home.
The game started at 11 AM, and been a close game with both teams trading leads in the first half. Bradley held a 1 point halftime lead at 32-31, but Chicago State has come back to take a 35-34 lead early in the 2nd half-

Wow, I won't comment much, because it just starts to seem like piling on, but the Bradley women just lost at home to Chicago State, who was winless against Division I. Bradley, now 1-8, shot just 30% and was outrebounded by Chicago State. The 5 starters were just 11-40 from the field (27.5%).
Final score- Chicago State 62 Bradley 59
Anyone is welcome to comment, but IMO this is clearly another "rebuilding" program that appears to be headed the wrong direction (like men's basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, and others). A year ago we had a poster comment that things were great and that the talent Coach Brooks was bringing in was far superior to the talent Paula Buscher left behind and that this year, Coach Brooks' third, would prove to be highly successful, now that he had mostly his own players. Well, besides the fact that the top scorer and 2 of the top players on this year's team are still among the "leftovers" from Paula, where is this influx of superior talent and success? Maybe fans like me are expecting too much? What excuses can be pulled from the worn-out "excuse file" shared by all the sports

Chicago State committed 30 turnovers - wow...
Bradley shot the ball 63 times to Chicago State's 40, yet Chicago State made more field goals (22 to 19)
the attendance for the women's game was announced at 1541...
..a really good crowd for the ladies - Dr Burchette estimated that over 1500 Peoria school kids were there

Chicago State's RPI coming into today's game was well over 300. They are the worst team on Bradley's schedule, and one of the worst in D1. They lost their previous game at UIC 70-44, they lost to DePaul 87-34, they lost to Western Michigan 73-43, they lost to WIU 90-55, they lost to Oakland 66-40, and they lost to Northwestern 102-48!
This is a more embarrassing loss than the BU men to Texas Arlington.

The BU women lose again. Bowling Green never trailed in the game, and beat BU in the Renaissance Coliseum 61-47.
BU falls to 1-9.

The Bradley women hosted Northern Illinois tonight at the Renaissance Coliseum.
Bradley lost at home to RPI 316 Chicago State before Christmas, but NIU was the 319th RPI team in Division I, the worst RPI of any opponent Bradley will face all year.
But the Bradley women continued their losing ways-
Final score- NIU 67 Bradley 54
Bradley falls to 1-10 on the season, and they begin MVC play on Friday, Jan. 2 against Northern Iowa.
Bradley's RPI, which was 318 coming into the game, will fall even further toward the bottom of Division I.
