ZA is what he is....like you stated, a good athlete that isn't a great hoops player. He gives effort but lacks the basketball IQ.
You wish TWO things when you have a ZA...that you have a POB he can play behind or that he's a sophmore with two more years to develop.

After watching the game last night I think we might be better off playing 5 guards. I know it sounds goofy, but Matt and Z are just plain overmatched. They both work their tails off, but they kill us when they are on the court trying to do too much. What part of illegal don't you understand?

I disagree. The reason we lost to UNI was because of Coleman and Stout and their scoring and rebounding. Playing more guards would not have helped that at all. We are going to lose some games like this because guards like JJ and Danny Adams can't rebound or defend big men like Stout well enough to stop them. If they hit a high enough percentage of 3's, then we can counter it. But on the road that will be difficult.
I would have liked to see Sally and Andrews in the game together more of the time to neutralize the rebounding advantage.

Playing 5 guards is not the answer. It may create some problems on offense, but those will be severely outweighed by the problems on defense. The 4 guard offense cannot be a true success without a good big man in the middle of it. BU suffers when we're not getting solid play inside. IMO we got some solid play from Salley last night, especially in the 2nd half when we were making our run. He did make some poor decisions, but I can't think of a Brave who didn't. ZA is the guy we have to get fixed, and in a hurry.Onward and Upward!

Not to make excuses because there are none, but it doesn't help an undersized team out much when players are allowed to shove and elbow their way under the basket. A number of over-the-backs and elbows were missed last night underneath.Onward and Upward!
