SLU did win at Indiana state by 13 and won at home vs SIU so I guess it could be considered a respectable victory
I will credit the coaching staff- this may be the first game in a long time where I felt the coaching and preparation made a difference. Bradley did a great job focusing on their scorers, and defending. Our offense still sputters, but we can stay in games with defense like we played.
Jermaine Morgan broke out of his funk and looked aggressive on offense. He, Shaw, and Taylor still don't seem to be aggressive or jump well to rebound, but they played better defense.
Bell had a very good game statistically, but I think his lack of quickness at the point is still part of the reason we are so sluggish on offense.
Barnes sparked the team with his 3 second half baskets.
Our guards all had poor shooting games:
Bell 2-7
Grier 2-7
Jones 0-1
Fields 0-1
And I am sure Geno won't be happy with the rebounding or the 35.7% shooting, and 23.1% from three-
Texas A&M CC 38 rebounds
Bradley 28 rebounds
But this was what the team needed going into the 2 games in Corpus Christi.
Let's win two!
That win reminded me again why I go to these games in the first place. It was a good time. The shooting by this opponent was comically bad, but I remember a home game where we had 12 pts at halftime during the James Gillingham era. Definite overall improvement on both ends.
