  • Chicago kids

Ron Coleman is in his 3rd year at Bradley and credited with helping to land several of the Mac Irvin & other Chicago kids...

Question - which of the Chicago kids has shown the MOST promise thus far?...
    -Xavier Taylor
    -Mike Shaw
    -Jermaine Morgan
    -Josh Cunningham
    -Donte Thomas (not really Chicago)

I like Donte Thomas but he's only a freshman -
His numbers are not pretty but the kid has talent - reminds me of Jerry Thomas...(the backboard-shattering dunk on the pregame video from a couple years ago)

    Chicago Kids

Coleman may be getting a few kids from Chcago but most of them are "In-Between" talents and simply are not at the talent level we really need. Granted JC and DT may become better players but thus far they are quite disappointing. Chin...Where are the Mitchel Anderson, Voice Winters, Anthony Manual, Hersey Hawkins, Donald Reese, Willey Scott, and Cisco & Sam Manicalco type of players?

I assume you mean Mike Shaw and not Taylor?

Too soon for me to say who has shown the most promise....probably Thomas but a couple of games is not much to go on.....I would like to do this again at the end of February though

I would absolutely love having LoVett next year, but the only way he comes to us is if he has serious baggage, either disciplinary or academic. He is so very very good.
            Gotta stop feeding the trolls.

and on the list of Chicago kids....and don't mean to pile on...
but we've had the Red-White, the Augustana game, and two regular season games already....
but the biggest disappointment has to be Jermaine Morgan...I hope he motivates to turn this all around....

But thus far - he came in here as supposedly mature, had gotten BCS offers (Colorado, Washington State, etc..) big body, skilled in all aspects, active around the basket, and quite possibly our best all-around big man and a projected starter...and should be a team leader as he is one of the oldest players on the team...
Dave Reynolds compared the guy to Donald Reese & other top big men that BU fans know..

His numbers thus far...4ppg/3.5rpg (plus scoreless vs. Augustana)
only 3 baskets, 37.5% shooting, 2-10 from the FT line, just seven rebounds total and only ONE offensive rebound - averaging 4 fouls per game and avoided fouling out of only one......is this another recruiting miss?
