  • UC-Davis at EIU

I understand a fair number of fans from Chicago area and Peoria area are at this game...
I am told it is a good battle - with UC-Davis leading much of the game...
and winning 63-61 to stay undefeated as they go to play at Furman before returning home for a 3 game homestand

Corey Hawkins with 28 pts, 7 rebs, 3 steals
Hawkins 5-7 from the arc & Tyler Les 3-5 from the arc...
    JT Adenrele 7 pts/8 rebs

Normally I would pull for most Illinois schools but that's great for coach Les. I also hope for the best for Mo and Ford once he moves on too.

Congrats to Coach Les and the Aggies. With Hawkins and Les leading the way it reminds me of the "good old days." Wish I could have made the trip down there.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

I heard Dick Versace was there as were a lot of other familiar faces from Peoria & Chicago...
recall Dick Versace really wanted the head coaching job at EIU - he'd have been a great hire for them!!!
Former NBA and college coach Dick Versace is contemplating a comeback and has expressed interest in the Eastern Illinois men's basketball opening.

Corey Hawkins surges towards the nations scoring leaders with his 28 pt performance

Bob Hunt, well known Peoria photographer, who does photography for the Bradley men's basketball team, as well as many other Bradley sports and Peoria high school sports, was at the EIU game, and enjoyed taking a lot of photos of the game and of the Peoria/UC Davis contingent at the game. Hopefully, they will appear on his website, soon.

UC-Davis goes even further east and picks up another road win to go to 3-0
Hawkins 21 and both Hawkins (65%) & T Les (67%) are still both shooting over 60% from the arc

Maybe EIU is not such a weak team...
they played undefeated Cincinnati yesterday and hung right with them the entire game...
..it was a one-possession game until the final 11 seconds
